SC Schwaz delivered a statement away performance on Sunday evening, defeating Rheindorf Altach B 4-2 in a pulsating Austrian 3.Liga encounter in Vorarlberg. The visitors showcased ruthless finishing and a high-energy pressing game to take all three points, handing Altach B their first home defeat of the young 2026-27 campaign.

Match Overview

The game kicked off under the floodlights at the Rheindorf Altach training complex, with the reserve side looking to build on a solid start to the season. However, Schwaz had other ideas. The Tirol-based club started brightly and took the lead inside the opening quarter-hour, silencing the small but vocal home support. Altach B responded well and equalised midway through the first half, but two quick-fire goals before the break swung the momentum firmly in Schwaz's favour.

After the restart, Altach B pushed forward and reduced the deficit to 3-2, setting up a tense final half-hour. But Schwaz defended resolutely and sealed the win with a late fourth goal on the counter-attack, ending any hopes of a home comeback.

Key Moments

• 12th minute: Schwaz striker Lukas Gruber opens the scoring with a low drive from the edge of the box after a neat lay-off.
• 28th minute: Altach B equalise through a towering header from centre-back Elias Müller following a corner.
• 36th minute: Schwaz regain the lead as Gruber turns provider, crossing for winger Marco Steiner to tap in.
• 43rd minute: A defensive mix-up allows Schwaz midfielder David Oberhauser to curl a shot into the far corner for 3-1.
• 61st minute: Altach B pull one back when substitute Jonas Ritter finishes a swift counter-attack.
• 87th minute: Schwaz seal the win as Gruber grabs his second, racing clear and finishing calmly past the goalkeeper.

Tactical Story

Schwaz set up in a compact 4-2-3-1 and used an aggressive high press to disrupt Altach B's attempts to play out from the back. The young home side, featuring several academy prospects, struggled to cope with the intensity and often resorted to long balls that were easily dealt with by Schwaz's experienced centre-back pairing. In possession, Schwaz attacked with width and purpose, repeatedly getting in behind the full-backs. Altach B improved after half-time, pushing their wingers higher and committing more bodies forward, but they left gaps at the back that the visitors exploited clinically.

Standout Players

Lukas Gruber (SC Schwaz) was the undisputed man of the match, scoring twice and assisting another. His movement off the ball caused problems all evening. David Oberhauser controlled the midfield with crisp passing and intelligent positioning, while Marco Steiner was a constant threat on the right flank. For Altach B, Elias Müller defended bravely and scored a fine header, while substitute Jonas Ritter added energy and a goal after coming on.

Table and Season Impact

The victory lifts SC Schwaz into the upper reaches of the Austrian 3.Liga table, keeping them within touching distance of the promotion places. For Rheindorf Altach B, the defeat leaves them mid-table, but the performance of several young players will give the coaching staff plenty of encouragement. The reserve side will look to bounce back quickly, while Schwaz will take confidence from a clinical away display that underlined their promotion credentials.

What’s Next

Rheindorf Altach B face a tricky away trip next weekend as they look to return to winning ways. SC Schwaz, meanwhile, will host a mid-table rival and will be eager to build on this impressive result. With the season still in its early stages, both sides know that consistency will be key.
