Lustenau 3-3 SV Fugen: Six-Goal Thriller Ends All Square

Lustenau and SV Fugen played out a remarkable 3-3 draw in the Austrian 3.Liga on Saturday, October 17, 2026, with six goals, multiple lead changes, and a late equalizer at the Reichshofstadion. The match had everything: early dominance, a stirring comeback, defensive mistakes, and a dramatic finish that left both sides with a point.

Match overview

Lustenau began the game on the front foot and raced into a 2-0 lead inside the first half-hour, playing with confidence and moving the ball quickly through midfield. SV Fugen looked stunned early on but responded well, pulling one back before half-time and then completing the comeback after the break. From there, the match became a wide-open contest with chances at both ends.

The visitors took the lead for the first time in the second half, only for Lustenau to find a late equalizer. It was a breathless encounter that highlighted both teams’ attacking quality and their defensive vulnerabilities.

Key moments

• 9th minute: Lustenau opened the scoring through Jonas Müller, who finished confidently after a quick passing move cut through the Fugen defense.
• 27th minute: Luca Steiner doubled the lead with a low drive from the edge of the box, putting the home side in control.
• 41st minute: SV Fugen pulled one back through Fabian Moosmann, whose close-range finish gave the visitors hope before the interval.
• 58th minute: Fugen equalized when Elias Grabher headed home from a corner, completing a strong start to the second half.
• 71st minute: Moosmann scored his second of the match to put Fugen 3-2 ahead, capping a rapid turnaround.
• 89th minute: Lustenau rescued a point when Steiner grabbed his second goal of the game, reacting quickest to a rebound inside the box.

Tactical story

Lustenau controlled the first half with patient possession and intelligent movement in wide areas. Their midfield found space between the lines, and the front players combined well to create the opening two goals. However, their defensive concentration slipped after taking a 2-0 lead, and Fugen’s direct approach began to cause problems.

SV Fugen were much more aggressive after the break, pressing higher and targeting set pieces. Their equalizer came from a corner, and their third goal followed a spell of sustained pressure. Lustenau responded by pushing more players forward in the final 15 minutes, and their persistence finally produced the late equalizer.

Standout performers

Steiner was Lustenau’s key attacking threat, scoring twice and remaining composed for the late equalizer. Moosmann was equally impressive for SV Fugen, scoring twice and leading the line with energy and movement. Both goalkeepers made saves in a frantic second half, but neither defense will look back on the match with much satisfaction.

What the result means

The draw keeps Lustenau and SV Fugen level on points in what is becoming an increasingly competitive Austrian 3.Liga campaign. Lustenau will be disappointed to have surrendered a two-goal lead at home, while Fugen will feel they did enough to win after fighting back from 2-0 down. The match underlined the attacking potential of both sides and the importance of defensive discipline in a division where goals can change a game in minutes.
