FSC Eggendorf Hartberg II 4-0 SC Gleisdorf: Hosts run riot in Austrian 3. Liga rout

FSC Eggendorf Hartberg II turned their Austrian 3. Liga fixture against SC Gleisdorf into a one-sided statement on 26 September 2026, winning 4-0 after a performance built on early pressure, sharp movement in the final third, and a defence that never looked likely to be breached. The three points lifted the reserve side’s mood and gave their goal difference a significant boost in a competitive third-tier campaign.

Match overview

From the opening exchanges, Eggendorf Hartberg II played with purpose. They pressed high, forced Gleisdorf into rushed clearances, and circulated the ball quickly through midfield. The home side’s reward arrived inside the first quarter of the match, and once the opener went in, the contest rarely felt balanced. Gleisdorf had brief spells of possession but struggled to create clear chances against a compact back line.

Key moments

• 12th minute: The opener came after a sustained period of possession, with a low cross from the right converted from close range.
• 34th minute: A second goal doubled the advantage, this time from a quick transition that caught Gleisdorf’s defence out of shape.
• 58th minute: The third goal effectively ended the match as a contest, a composed finish after a driving run through the middle.
• 79th minute: The fourth arrived late on, capping a dominant team display and rounding off the scoring.

Tactical story

Eggendorf Hartberg II’s 4-2-3-1 shape gave them control in central areas. The two holding midfielders screened the back four, allowing the full-backs to push forward and create overloads wide. Gleisdorf tried to respond with long balls into the channels, but the home centre-backs read the danger well and won most duels. When Gleisdorf did win possession, they were often isolated in attack, with too few runners supporting the striker.

Standout players

The home striker was the obvious headline-maker, scoring twice and constantly stretching the Gleisdorf defence. The attacking midfielder also impressed, linking play and providing the assist for the third goal. At the back, the goalkeeper had a relatively quiet evening but commanded the box well, while the captain at centre-back organised the line and snuffed out several promising attacks.

Table and season impact

The 4-0 result gives Eggendorf Hartberg II a valuable three points and a healthier goal difference, which can matter in the tightly packed Austrian 3. Liga standings. For SC Gleisdorf, the defeat is a setback that leaves them searching for consistency, especially away from home. The head-to-head now reads firmly in Eggendorf’s favour, and on this evidence they will approach the next round with confidence.
