BKMA 1-1 Sadarakpat: Points shared in Armenian Premier League stalemate

BKMA and Sadarakpat played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw in the Armenian Premier League on Saturday, September 19, 2026, with both sides taking a point from a match that was tactically cautious but never short of commitment. BKMA led for much of the second half, but Sadarakpat responded with a well-worked equaliser to claim a share of the spoils.

The result keeps both teams in the middle section of the Armenian Premier League table, though each will feel they could have pushed for more. BKMA impressed with their youthful energy and pressing, while Sadarakpat showed resilience and composure after falling behind.

Match overview

BKMA started the brighter side, moving the ball quickly through midfield and looking to release their wide players in behind. Their opening goal arrived in the 23rd minute when Armen Hovhannisyan found space at the edge of the box and guided a precise shot into the bottom corner.

Sadarakpat grew into the game after the half-hour mark. They began to press higher, win second balls and force BKMA into rushed clearances. The equaliser came in the 61st minute, and from there the contest became a tense midfield battle, with both sides wary of committing too many players forward.

Key moments

• 23rd minute – 1-0 BKMA: Armen Hovhannisyan opened the scoring with a composed low finish after a neat build-up.
• 61st minute – 1-1 Sadarakpat: Tigran Avetisyan equalised with a first-time strike following a cut-back from the right.
• 78th minute: BKMA nearly restored their lead, but a goal-line clearance kept the scores level.
• 90th minute: Sadarakpat had a late chance from a free-kick, but the goalkeeper saved comfortably.

Tactical story

BKMA set up with a 4-2-3-1 formation and tried to dominate possession, but Sadarakpat’s compact 4-4-2 made it difficult to find clear passing lanes. The hosts often had to go wide, and their crosses were dealt with well by Sadarakpat’s central defenders.

Sadarakpat’s equaliser came from a moment of transition. They won the ball in midfield, moved it quickly to the wing and produced a low cross that was converted before BKMA’s defence could reset. After that, both teams tightened up, and clear chances became rare.

Standout players

Armen Hovhannisyan was BKMA’s most creative outlet, linking play intelligently and taking his goal well. In defence, their captain made several important interceptions. For Sadarakpat, Tigran Avetisyan was the hero with the equaliser, while their goalkeeper made a crucial save late on to preserve the draw.

Both midfields worked tirelessly, but the game lacked a true dominant figure. Instead, it was a collective effort that kept the match balanced from start to finish.

Table impact

The draw leaves BKMA and Sadarakpat level on points in the Armenian Premier League, underlining how competitive the mid-table battle is this season. BKMA will feel they dropped two points after leading, while Sadarakpat will take confidence from their second-half response. With plenty of fixtures still to come, both sides know that turning draws into wins will be key to climbing the standings.
