Alashkert Yerevan delivered a dominant performance in the Armenian Premier League, crushing FC Syunik 5-1 on Friday, October 16, 2026. The home side were in complete control from the early stages, scoring freely and showcasing their attacking depth.

Match overview

Alashkert Yerevan came into the match looking to assert their authority, and they did so in emphatic fashion. A fast start set the tone, with the home side pressing high and moving the ball quickly through the thirds. FC Syunik struggled to cope with the pace and intensity, conceding multiple goals before the interval.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Alashkert added to their tally and managed the game comfortably, allowing Syunik only a consolation goal. The 5-1 scoreline accurately reflected the gap between the two sides on the night.

Key moments

• 14th minute: Alashkert opened the scoring with a precise low finish.
• 27th minute: A second goal came from a powerful header at the back post.
• 39th minute: Alashkert made it 3-0 with a counter-attacking goal.
• 52nd minute: The home side scored a fourth, again exploiting space on the flanks.
• 64th minute: FC Syunik pulled one back with a well-struck free-kick.
• 79th minute: Alashkert completed the scoring with their fifth goal of the evening.

Tactical story

Alashkert’s midfield dominance was the key. They won possession aggressively and transitioned into attack with speed, often catching Syunik’s defence before it could reorganise. The wingers stretched the pitch, creating space for central runners, while the full-backs provided constant overlaps.

FC Syunik attempted to sit deeper and absorb pressure, but they were unable to cope with Alashkert’s movement and quick passing. Their consolation goal was a rare bright moment, but overall it was a difficult night for the visitors.

Standout performers

Alashkert’s attacking players shared the goals, with the striker and attacking midfielder particularly influential. The captain dictated the tempo from midfield, while the goalkeeper made a smart save early in the second half to preserve the comfortable lead. Syunik’s free-kick scorer was their best performer on a tough evening.

League impact

The victory strengthens Alashkert Yerevan’s position in the Armenian Premier League standings and sends a clear message to their rivals. FC Syunik remain in need of points and will have to regroup quickly. With goal difference potentially decisive in the title race, Alashkert’s five-goal haul could prove valuable come the end of the season.
