CA Talleres de Córdoba Reserves secured a convincing 3-1 victory over Godoy Cruz Reserves in the Argentine Reserve League on Friday, October 2, 2026. The win keeps Talleres' title challenge on track and extends their unbeaten home record to eight matches.

Early Dominance

Talleres started brightly, moving the ball quickly and pressing Godoy Cruz high up the pitch. The opening goal arrived in the 18th minute when Tomás Palacios headed in a corner from close range. Godoy Cruz responded well, equalising in the 32nd minute through a well-taken free-kick from Valentín Depietri. But Talleres regained the lead just before half-time, with Franco Moyano finishing off a slick team move.

Second Half Control

In the second half, Talleres managed the game expertly. They doubled their lead in the 67th minute when substitute David Romero raced clear and slotted past the goalkeeper. Godoy Cruz pushed forward in search of a way back, but Talleres' defence held firm. The visitors rarely threatened, managing just one shot on target after the break.

Tactical Story

Talleres lined up in a 4-2-3-1, with Palacios and Moyano dictating play from deep. Their wingers stretched the Godoy Cruz defence, creating space for the full-backs to overlap. Godoy Cruz, in a 4-4-2, struggled to cope with Talleres' movement and were often caught out of position.

Statistically, Talleres dominated with 62% possession, 18 shots to 6, and 9 corners to 3. It was a thoroughly professional performance from the young side.

Standout Players

• Tomás Palacios (Talleres): A commanding presence in midfield, capped with a goal.
• Franco Moyano (Talleres): Scored the crucial second goal and controlled the tempo.
• David Romero (Talleres): Made an immediate impact off the bench with a well-taken goal.

League Impact

With this victory, Talleres Reserves move to second place in the Argentine Reserve League, just two points behind the leaders with a game in hand. Godoy Cruz Reserves remain mid-table, but their inconsistent form continues. Talleres next face a tough away trip to River Plate Reserves, while Godoy Cruz host Lanús Reserves.
