Talleres Reserves brush aside Aldosivi Reserves with controlled 2-0 win

CA Talleres de Córdoba Reserves secured a composed 2-0 victory over CA Aldosivi Reserves in the Argentine Reserve League on Wednesday, 28 October 2026, thanks to a first-half opener and a second-half penalty. The win underlined Talleres’ control in midfield and their ability to turn territorial dominance into goals.

Talleres set the tone early with aggressive pressing and quick ball circulation, forcing Aldosivi into turnovers in dangerous areas. The home side’s reward arrived in the first half, and a second goal after the break gave them the cushion needed to manage the closing stages comfortably.

Match overview

The game was played at a good tempo, with Talleres looking the more purposeful side from the outset. Their midfield pressed high and won second balls consistently, allowing the forward line to receive possession in advanced positions. Aldosivi Reserves defended in a compact block but struggled to sustain possession and were often pinned back in their own half.

Talleres’ dominance was reflected in the chances created. They worked the ball into wide areas effectively and delivered dangerous crosses, while also threatening from set pieces. Aldosivi’s best moments came on the counter, but clear openings were limited by Talleres’ disciplined defensive shape.

Key moments

• 18th minute – Talleres take the lead: Mateo Cáceres finished a flowing move, arriving at the back post to convert a low cross from the right.
• 34th minute – Aldosivi respond: The visitors forced a sharp save from the Talleres goalkeeper with a dipping effort from outside the box.
• 64th minute – Penalty converted: Captain Lautaro Gómez doubled the advantage from the spot after Talleres were awarded a penalty for a foul inside the area.
• 78th minute – Late resilience: Aldosivi pushed more bodies forward, but Talleres’ centre-backs dealt with the increased pressure and preserved the clean sheet.

Tactical story

Talleres lined up with a midfield trio that controlled the rhythm of the match, pressing aggressively and recycling possession quickly. Their full-backs provided width, allowing the wide forwards to drift inside and combine with the central striker. That rotation caused Aldosivi problems throughout, especially in the first hour.

Aldosivi Reserves attempted to stay compact and hit on the break, but they struggled to find consistent outlets. When they did win the ball, Talleres’ counter-press often snuffed out the danger before it could develop. The penalty early in the second half effectively broke Aldosivi’s resistance and allowed Talleres to manage the game with maturity.

Standout players

Mateo Cáceres was a constant threat with his movement and link-up play, and his first-half goal set the platform for the win. Captain Lautaro Gómez controlled the midfield and showed composure from the penalty spot. At the back, Talleres’ central defenders were authoritative in the air and alert to Aldosivi’s late surges, while the goalkeeper handled everything asked of him.

Season impact

The three points strengthen CA Talleres de Córdoba Reserves’ position in the Argentine Reserve League standings and continue their positive momentum. The clean sheet will be particularly pleasing for the coaching staff, as it reflected both defensive discipline and control of the game. For CA Aldosivi Reserves, the defeat offers lessons in managing pressure and making better use of possession in the final third.
