Belgrano Reserves and CA Talleres de Córdoba Reserves played out a 1-1 draw in the Argentine Reserve League on 24 September 2026, with both sides taking a point from a hard-fought Córdoba derby. The result leaves Belgrano and Talleres still within touching distance of the reserve division's leading group, but each will feel they could have taken more from a match that swung on fine margins.

Match Overview

Played at Belgrano's training complex in Córdoba, the game followed the familiar rhythm of a reserve-team derby: high intensity, quick transitions and plenty of physical duels in midfield. Belgrano started with more purpose, pressing Talleres' first pass and forcing the visitors into a series of early clearances. Talleres, however, gradually settled and began to find space between the lines, using their wide players to stretch the home defence.

The opening goal arrived midway through the first half. Belgrano's Santiago Luján, who had been lively on the right, cut inside and curled a left-footed effort into the far corner. The lead gave the home side confidence, and they nearly doubled it before the break when a close-range header clipped the top of the crossbar.

Key Moments

• First half: Belgrano's Santiago Luján opened the scoring with a precise curling finish.
• Before half-time: Talleres goalkeeper Facundo Herrera made a sharp save to keep the deficit at one.
• Second half: Talleres pushed more players forward, and the equaliser came when Facundo Villalba arrived late in the box to convert a low cross.
• Late drama: Both sides had chances to win it, but Belgrano's goalkeeper and Talleres' defensive block held firm in the final minutes.

Tactical Story

Belgrano's 4-2-3-1 looked to attack quickly through the flanks, while Talleres used a compact 4-4-2 out of possession before switching to a more ambitious shape after the interval. The visitors' adjustment was decisive: they won more second balls in midfield and began to pin Belgrano deeper. Still, Talleres left gaps behind their full-backs, and Belgrano's counter-attacks remained dangerous until the final whistle.

Standout Players

Luján was Belgrano's most incisive player, combining direct running with a composed finish. In midfield, Tomás Ibarra did the dirty work, breaking up several Talleres moves. For the visitors, Villalba's energy and late arrival in the box changed the game, while centre-back Lautaro Ferreyra stood tall during a late aerial barrage.

Season Impact

A point apiece keeps both clubs in the chasing pack of the Argentine Reserve League. Belgrano will be encouraged by their attacking width and the performance of their younger prospects, but dropped points at home are always costly in a competitive reserve table. Talleres, meanwhile, showed the resilience expected of a club with a strong development pipeline. The draw adds another chapter to the Córdoba rivalry and leaves both sides with clear areas to improve before their next fixtures.
