FC Ordino edged CE Carroi 3-2 in a pulsating Andorran Primera Divisio clash, with a late Joan Ferreira strike settling a five-goal contest that swung one way and then the other. The home side twice surrendered the lead before finding a decisive moment in the closing stages, giving Ordino a valuable three points and another reminder of their attacking potential in the Andorran top flight.

Match overview

FC Ordino started with purpose at home, pressing high and looking to get their wide players into the game early. That approach brought the opener, but CE Carroi responded with the kind of compact, counter-attacking performance that has made them awkward opposition. The match developed into an end-to-end affair after the break, with both sides creating clear chances and the midfield battle becoming increasingly stretched. Just when a draw looked likely, Ordino found one final attacking sequence and converted it with real composure.

Key moments

• 11' — FC Ordino 1-0: Pol Roca finished a flowing move after good work down the right, giving the hosts an early reward for their bright start.
• 29' — FC Ordino 1-1: CE Carroi struck back through Hugo Martins, who capitalised on space between the lines and beat the goalkeeper with a low effort.
• 52' — FC Ordino 2-1: Nil Sánchez restored the lead with a composed finish after Ordino recycled possession around the Carroi box.
• 70' — FC Ordino 2-2: Alex Ruiz levelled again for Carroi, converting a quick transition that exposed Ordino’s stretched back line.
• 86' — FC Ordino 3-2: Substitute Joan Ferreira produced the winner, arriving late in the area to turn home a cross and send the home support into celebration.

Tactical story

Ordino’s 4-3-3 shape gave them control in wide areas, with the full-backs pushing forward and the midfield trio looking to recycle possession quickly. Carroi, by contrast, were happy to defend in a mid-block and attack through fast breaks. That made the game feel open even when Ordino had the ball, and Carroi’s equalisers came from exactly the kind of direct sequences their game plan was designed to produce. Ordino’s substitutions proved decisive: Ferreira’s late arrival added fresh energy in the box, while the home midfield began to win more second balls in the final 20 minutes.

Standout players

Nil Sánchez was central to Ordino’s best work, linking midfield and attack and scoring at a crucial moment. Ferreira will take the headlines for the winner, but his movement before the goal was just as important. For Carroi, Hugo Martins and Alex Ruiz showed why they remain a threat on the break, while their goalkeeper made several important stops to keep the visitors in the contest.

Season impact

The result gives FC Ordino momentum in the Andorran Primera Divisio and strengthens their position in the upper half of the standings. For CE Carroi, the defeat is a narrow one, but it leaves them with little margin for error in the coming matchdays. Ordino’s ability to score three times at home will encourage their coaching staff, though the two goals conceded will give them something to work on defensively.
