CS Constantine U20 ran out 3-1 winners over JSM Skikda U20 in their ALG U20 fixture on 23 October 2026, producing a performance full of attacking intent and clinical finishing at key moments. The three points bolster Constantine's standing in the Algerian youth league table and underline the depth of talent coming through at the club.

Match Overview

CS Constantine U20 started brightly and quickly established control of the midfield, pressing JSM Skikda U20 into early errors and creating openings through the channels. The home side's intensity set the tone: they were first to the second ball, aggressive in the tackle and direct in transition, forcing Skikda to defend deep for long periods of the first half.

Skikda, to their credit, stayed in the contest and found a response of their own, pulling a goal back to briefly threaten a comeback. But Constantine's composure in possession and their superiority in the final third proved decisive, as they reasserted their advantage and closed out the game with a two-goal cushion.

Key Moments

• Early breakthrough: Constantine's front line pressed high and forced errors at the back, opening the scoring with a well-worked move down the right.
• Doubling the lead: A swift counter-attack stretched Skikda's defence, and a composed finish made it 2-0 before the interval.
• Skikda's reply: The visitors pulled a goal back with a determined attacking sequence, giving themselves a lifeline and raising the tempo of the contest.
• Sealing the win: Constantine restored their two-goal buffer in the second half, converting sustained pressure to put the result beyond doubt.

Tactical Story

CS Constantine U20's game plan hinged on quick ball circulation and aggressive counter-pressing, and it worked to perfection. Their midfield rotated well, creating angles for progressive passes, while the wide players stayed high to pin Skikda's full-backs and open space in the half-spaces. When they lost the ball, the reaction was immediate, denying Skikda the time to build rhythm.

JSM Skikda U20 showed flashes of quality, particularly in the period after their goal, when their passing game found a sharper edge. However, they struggled to sustain pressure against Constantine's physicality, and their defensive line was exposed repeatedly on the break. The story of the match was simple: Constantine created more high-quality chances and took them.

Standout Performers

Constantine's forward line deserves much of the credit, with sharp movement and assured finishing throughout. The midfield anchor was equally influential, breaking up Skikda's attacks and launching the transitions that produced the goals. For Skikda, the goalkeeper produced several saves to keep the scoreline respectable, and their goalscorer showed good instincts with a well-taken chance amid a difficult afternoon.

Season Impact

The 3-1 victory gives CS Constantine U20 valuable momentum in a competitive Algerian youth division, where consistency separates the title contenders from the chasing pack. Scoring three goals at home reinforces the sense that Constantine can be a genuine threat in the attacking third, while the clean sheet discipline in the closing stages suggests a side maturing as the season progresses.

For JSM Skikda U20, the defeat is a reminder of the fine margins at this level. Their goal shows they can hurt opponents when they find rhythm, but defensive solidity and game management must improve if they are to climb the table. The result will draw attention to Constantine's attacking quality and give Skikda clear areas to work on before their next outing.
