US Chaouia secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over NRB Teleghma in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2 on Saturday, with a single goal proving enough to separate the sides after a competitive and physically demanding contest. The home team made the decisive breakthrough and then defended their advantage with maturity to claim all three points.

Match overview

US Chaouia began the match with energy and intent, pressing NRB Teleghma in the early stages and forcing the visitors into mistakes. The home side’s willingness to attack created a lively atmosphere, and their persistence was rewarded when they found the opening goal. Teleghma reacted well, enjoying more possession as the first half progressed, but they struggled to create clear chances.

After the interval, the visitors pushed harder in search of an equaliser. US Chaouia dropped deeper and relied on their defensive organisation, looking to hit on the counter. The game became stretched at times, but the home back line held firm.

Key moments

The breakthrough came when US Chaouia turned a promising attack into a goal, finishing with composure to take the lead. NRB Teleghma responded with a spell of pressure before half-time, but their best effort was a shot from outside the box that sailed over.

In the second half, Teleghma won several corners and free-kicks in useful areas, but Chaouia’s defenders dealt with the deliveries well. The visitors thought they had found a way through late on, only for a brave block to deny them. Chaouia could have sealed the game on the break, but the final score remained 1-0.

Tactical story

US Chaouia’s approach was built on intensity and quick transitions. They pressed early, scored during their strongest spell, and then managed the game intelligently. The midfield protected the back four, and the wide players worked hard to track back when Teleghma attacked.

NRB Teleghma had more of the ball in the second half but lacked penetration. Their attacks became predictable as they were forced into crosses, and Chaouia’s central defenders stood strong. The home side’s discipline without the ball was the foundation of the victory.

Standout performers

The goalscorer will take the plaudits, but US Chaouia’s goalkeeper and defenders were equally important. They handled late pressure and made several crucial clearances. For Teleghma, the midfield kept working and tried to drive the team forward, but the attacking unit lacked the sharpness needed to convert possession into goals.

Season impact

The three points are a welcome boost for US Chaouia, who showed they can win tight games at home. In the Ligue Professionnelle 2 standings, such victories can be the difference between mid-table comfort and a promotion challenge. NRB Teleghma will be disappointed to leave empty-handed, but their second-half response offered positives. Turning territorial pressure into goals is now the priority.
