Moustakbal Baladiat Rouissat and ES Ben Aknoun Share the Points

Moustakbal Baladiat Rouissat and ES Ben Aknoun played out a 0-0 draw in a match that offered plenty of commitment but little in the way of clear-cut chances. Both sides had spells of control in a cagey encounter, yet neither could find the moment of quality required to break the deadlock.

The point keeps both clubs in the middle pack of the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1, and each will feel it was a case of a point gained rather than two dropped, given how evenly the contest was fought.

Match Overview

Rouissat began brightly in front of their own supporters, pressing with energy and forcing a number of early corners. Ben Aknoun weathered that initial spell and gradually grew into the game, finding space in wide areas and asking questions of the home full-backs.

Chances were at a premium throughout. Both goalkeepers were called into action, but neither was tested as often as the territorial balance of the game might have suggested, with the final ball letting both teams down in the attacking third.

Key Moments

• 14th minute: Rouissat's first attempt on target, a low shot from the edge of the box comfortably gathered.
• 26th minute: Ben Aknoun struck the base of the post with a well-struck effort from distance.
• 48th minute: A goalmouth scramble ended with the ball hooked clear by a defender under pressure.
• 67th minute: Rouissat's winger cut inside and curled narrowly wide of the far post.
• 90th minute: A late free-kick for Ben Aknoun drifted just over the crossbar as both sides settled for a point.

Tactical Story

Rouissat lined up with a midfield trio designed to win the second ball and play quickly into the channels, and that approach worked well in the opening half hour. Ben Aknoun adjusted by pressing higher and cutting off the short passing options, which turned the game into a scrappier, more transitional affair after the break.

Both benches shuffled their attacking options in the final twenty minutes in search of a winner, but the substitutions served mainly to increase the tempo rather than the precision, and the defensive units on both sides held firm.

Standout Performers

The two goalkeepers were the most assured figures on the pitch, handling crosses confidently and distributing accurately under pressure. In midfield, Rouissat's captain set the tone with a tireless display, while Ben Aknoun's right-back was arguably the best outlet on the pitch, combining solid defending with repeated overlapping runs.

Season Impact

A clean sheet will please both coaches, particularly with defensive solidity so often the foundation of a successful campaign. Rouissat remain difficult to beat at home, while Ben Aknoun continue to show the resilience needed to compete consistently in the top flight. Both sides will now turn their attention to turning draws into wins in the weeks ahead.
