MO Constantine 2-1 CR Beni Thour: Hosts Edge Five-Goal Thriller in Algerian Ligue 2

MO Constantine secured an important 2-1 victory over CR Beni Thour in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2 on Friday evening, coming from behind to claim all three points in a competitive encounter. The match, which kicked off at 22:00 local time, produced three goals and plenty of drama as both sides pushed for a decisive result.

CR Beni Thour started brightly and took the lead with a well-placed finish after a period of sustained pressure. The away side looked comfortable in possession early on, knocking the ball around with purpose and forcing MO Constantine to defend deep inside their own half.

Match Overview

MO Constantine responded well to falling behind. They gradually grew into the game, winning more second balls in midfield and beginning to ask questions of the CR Beni Thour back line. The equaliser arrived before half-time, a goal that owed much to perseverance as much as quality. A blocked shot fell kindly inside the box, and the follow-up was converted to level the score.

The second half was a much more open affair. Both teams traded chances, and the tempo increased as the game wore on. MO Constantine edged ahead with a fine team move, finishing clinically after a quick exchange of passes on the edge of the area. From there, they defended with determination, repelling a late wave of CR Beni Thour attacks to secure the win.

Key Moments

• First half: CR Beni Thour took the lead with a composed finish after a strong start.
• Before half-time: MO Constantine equalised from close range following a scramble in the box.
• Second half: MO Constantine scored what proved to be the winner with a sharp passing move.
• Late on: CR Beni Thour pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but MO Constantine held on.

Tactical Story

MO Constantine's comeback was built on a shift in midfield. After struggling to contain CR Beni Thour's early passing patterns, they adjusted their pressing triggers and began to force turnovers in more dangerous areas. That change allowed them to turn defence into attack quickly, and both goals came from situations where they won the ball back and attacked with purpose.

CR Beni Thour will be disappointed with their second-half defensive work. They had chances of their own, particularly from set pieces, but they left too much space between the lines and were punished. Their late rally showed character, but it was not enough to rescue a point.

What It Means

The win gives MO Constantine a timely boost in the Algerian Ligue 2 table and reinforces their home form. For CR Beni Thour, it is a narrow defeat that leaves them with plenty to work on, especially their ability to manage games after taking the lead. With the season still unfolding, both sides will know that consistency will be the key to achieving their ambitions.
