AS Khroub claimed a 1-0 away victory over MO Constantine in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2 on 24 October 2026, scoring the only goal of the game in the second half and then defending resolutely to secure all three points. The result was a lesson in efficiency, with Khroub making the most of a rare clear opening while Constantine dominated possession without finding a breakthrough.

Match overview

MO Constantine controlled much of the ball from the early stages, building patiently from the back and looking to work openings through the wide areas. AS Khroub sat deep, kept their defensive lines compact and invited pressure, preferring to strike on the counter. The home side moved the ball into promising positions but struggled to produce a decisive final pass.

The decisive moment arrived in the second half. AS Khroub won the ball in midfield and broke quickly, creating a shooting chance that was finished calmly. From there, the visitors dropped deeper and defended their advantage with discipline, while Constantine increased the tempo in search of an equaliser.

Key moments

MO Constantine’s best chance of the first half came from a set piece, but the header was directed straight at the goalkeeper. Early in the second half, a low drive from outside the box forced another save. The breakthrough came at the other end, as AS Khroub’s counterattack cut through the Constantine midfield and produced the game’s only goal.

Constantine threw men forward late on and delivered a series of crosses into the box, but Khroub’s centre-backs stood firm. A final stoppage-time corner was cleared, and the away side managed the remaining seconds professionally.

Tactical story

AS Khroub’s defensive organisation was the foundation of the win. Their midfield stayed close to the back four, denying Constantine space between the lines, and they were happy to concede possession in less dangerous areas. When they won the ball, they attacked with purpose and numbers.

For MO Constantine, the challenge was breaking down a deep block. They circulated the ball well but lacked penetration in the final third. Crosses were often contested by a well-drilled defence, and shots from distance rarely troubled the keeper. It was a frustrating night for the home side but a tactically mature one for Khroub.

Standout performers

AS Khroub’s goalkeeper produced a composed display, handling crosses confidently and making a key save after the interval. The goalscorer showed composure in the decisive moment, while the central defenders were outstanding in the air. MO Constantine’s midfield worked tirelessly, but their attackers were kept at arm’s length.

Table and season impact

The away win gives AS Khroub a valuable three points and strengthens their reputation as a difficult side to break down. For MO Constantine, the defeat is a reminder that possession must be converted into clear chances in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2. The standings remain congested, and Khroub will hope this result becomes a springboard for their away form.
