MC Oran made it another productive home outing with a 1-0 victory over Olympique Akbou in Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 on October 18, 2026, thanks to a first-half strike that proved enough for all three points.

In a match of fine margins, MC Oran’s early control paid off before Olympique Akbou raised their game after the break. The home side defended their advantage with maturity and held on through a tense final spell.

Match Overview

MC Oran began brightly and pressed Olympique Akbou high up the pitch, forcing errors in the visitors’ build-up. The breakthrough came midway through the first half when a quick attacking move opened the Akbou defence. After the interval, the away side enjoyed more possession, but MC Oran’s shape remained disciplined and limited clear sights of goal.

Key Moments

• Opening goal: Abdelkader Boutiche latched onto a pass in the box and slotted home to give MC Oran a 1-0 lead.

• Decisive clearance: A late goal-line intervention from MC Oran’s centre-back pairing denied Akbou an equaliser.

Tactical Story

MC Oran’s midfield trio controlled the first half, winning loose balls and feeding the wide areas. Olympique Akbou adjusted after the break, switching to a more direct approach and targeting the channels. The home side responded by tightening the space between the lines and slowing the tempo, a game-management decision that protected the result.

Standout Players

Boutiche’s composed finish was the standout moment, while MC Oran’s defensive unit deserved credit for a collective shutout. Akbou’s goalkeeper kept his side within reach with two important saves, but the visitors could not turn their second-half pressure into a goal.

Season Impact

The win adds another important three points to MC Oran’s tally and reinforces their home advantage in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 table. Olympique Akbou leave empty-handed but will take encouragement from a more assertive second-half display as they continue their campaign.
