JS Azazga made home advantage count with a commanding 3-0 victory over CR Beni Thour in Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2 action on October 19, 2026. The hosts produced a balanced performance, combining early control with sharper finishing after the break to secure all three points in front of their supporters.

The match was billed as an important fixture in the second tier, and JS Azazga responded with the kind of composed display that coaches look for during a long campaign. They were organized at the back, purposeful in midfield, and decisive in the final third, while CR Beni Thour struggled to turn possession into clear chances.

Match overview

JS Azazga set the tone from the opening stages by pressing higher and forcing CR Beni Thour into hurried clearances. The home side’s midfield kept the ball moving quickly, switching play from side to side and drawing the visitors out of their defensive shape. That control eventually translated into the opening goal, which gave the hosts confidence and forced Beni Thour to respond.

CR Beni Thour showed brief signs of life after conceding, pushing more players forward and trying to use the wide areas. However, JS Azazga’s back line held firm and limited the visitors to speculative efforts from distance. The second half belonged largely to the home team, who added two more goals and managed the closing stages comfortably.

Key moments

• First-half breakthrough: JS Azazga’s pressure paid off when a well-worked attacking move opened the scoring, settling the hosts’ nerves.
• Second-half cushion: The home side doubled the lead after the restart, capitalizing on a quick transition and a defensive lapse from CR Beni Thour.
• Late finish: A third goal sealed the result, rewarding JS Azazga’s sustained control and leaving the visitors with no route back into the contest.

The timing of the goals was especially important. The opener gave JS Azazga a platform, the second forced CR Beni Thour to take greater risks, and the third removed any lingering doubt about the outcome. It was a mature scoring performance rather than a chaotic one.

Tactical story

JS Azazga’s success was built on compact defending and efficient movement in possession. The midfield trio worked hard to close space when Beni Thour had the ball, while the full-backs provided width when the hosts attacked. That balance allowed JS Azazga to remain solid without becoming passive.

CR Beni Thour, by contrast, found it difficult to sustain attacks. The visitors often had to play sideways or backward because JS Azazga denied central access, and their most promising moments came from set pieces and crosses rather than open-play combinations. Once the second goal went in, the game became increasingly difficult for them to manage.

Standout performers

JS Azazga’s attacking players deserved credit for their movement and link-up play, but the foundation was laid by a disciplined defensive unit that protected the lead after the opening goal. The midfield also played a key role, winning second balls and keeping the tempo high enough to prevent CR Beni Thour from settling.

For CR Beni Thour, the goalkeeper and central defenders had busy afternoons and produced several important interventions before the scoreline became lopsided. Their efforts kept the visitors within reach for long stretches, even if the team ultimately lacked the attacking spark needed to respond.

Season impact

The 3-0 win gives JS Azazga a valuable three-point boost and reinforces their home form in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2. A clean sheet will be particularly pleasing, as it highlights the team’s ability to combine attacking output with defensive control. For CR Beni Thour, the result is a reminder that away fixtures in this division demand greater composure in possession and more clinical use of the few chances that come their way.

JS Azazga will look to carry the momentum into their next league outing, while CR Beni Thour must regroup quickly and focus on tightening their defensive shape. On this evidence, the hosts have the tools to remain competitive in the promotion conversation, while the visitors still have work to do if they are to climb the table consistently.
