MC Saida produced a strong away performance to beat El Bayadh 2-1 in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2 on Saturday, coming from behind to claim a valuable three points. El Bayadh struck first, but MC Saida responded with character, equalised before the break, and found the winner in the second half to complete an impressive comeback.

Match overview

The home side started brightly and took the lead during their best period of the first half. El Bayadh’s early pressure unsettled MC Saida, and the opening goal gave them something to defend. However, the visitors grew into the game as the half wore on, finding more space in midfield and beginning to ask questions of the El Bayadh defence.

MC Saida’s equaliser changed the mood of the contest. Instead of sitting back, the visitors pushed for a second goal and carried that momentum into the second half. El Bayadh tried to regain control, but the away side’s confidence was visible in their passing and movement.

Key moments

El Bayadh’s opener came after a period of sustained pressure, with the home side converting their chance to take the lead. MC Saida responded well and found the equaliser before half-time, finishing off a move that stretched the El Bayadh back line.

After the restart, both teams had spells of possession, but MC Saida looked the more dangerous side. The decisive moment arrived when the visitors broke forward and scored the winning goal, silencing the home crowd. El Bayadh pushed late for a second equaliser, sending more players into the box, but MC Saida defended with concentration and held on.

Tactical story

El Bayadh’s early approach was positive, but their lead did not last. MC Saida adjusted well, pressing higher and finding gaps between the home side’s midfield and defence. The visitors’ willingness to attack after equalising was key to the result, as they refused to settle for a draw.

In the second half, MC Saida managed the game intelligently. They slowed the tempo when needed, defended in numbers, and looked to counter with purpose. El Bayadh became increasingly direct as they chased the game, but that made their attacks easier to defend.

Standout performers

MC Saida’s attacking players deserve credit for taking their chances, while the midfield unit drove the comeback with energy and composure. The away goalkeeper also made important saves in the closing stages. For El Bayadh, the opening goal was well taken, but the team’s inability to protect the lead proved costly.

Season impact

The win is a significant confidence boost for MC Saida, especially on the road in a competitive Ligue Professionnelle 2 campaign. Away victories can shape a season, and this comeback showed character. El Bayadh, meanwhile, will need to regroup quickly. Dropping points at home after taking the lead is a frustrating outcome, and they will be eager to respond in their next fixture.
