CA Batna secured a composed 2-0 victory over US Chaouia in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2, using patient buildup and a disciplined defensive structure to claim all three points at the Stade du 1er Novembre 1954. The home side were rarely troubled after taking the lead, and a second goal late in the contest confirmed their superiority.

Match overview

CA Batna began with intent, controlling possession in midfield and testing the US Chaouia back line with early crosses. The visitors defended in a compact block and looked to spring counter-attacks, but they struggled to keep the ball long enough to relieve pressure. The breakthrough came in the first half when CA Batna’s midfield won a second ball and quickly shifted it wide, creating space for a low finish inside the penalty area.

US Chaouia improved briefly after the restart and forced a couple of half-chances, but CA Batna’s goalkeeper was well protected by his centre-backs. The hosts doubled their advantage with a well-worked move down the right, and from there the game management was professional rather than dramatic.

Key moments

• 27th minute: CA Batna take the lead after a quick transition and a composed finish from inside the box.
• 42nd minute: US Chaouia’s best chance of the first half is blocked by a well-timed challenge.
• 64th minute: CA Batna’s goalkeeper makes a smart save to preserve the lead.
• 78th minute: The hosts double their advantage with a move that ends in a close-range finish.
• 90th minute: CA Batna see out the closing stages comfortably and keep a clean sheet.

Tactical story

The home side’s midfield trio was the foundation of the win. CA Batna controlled the central areas, recycled possession intelligently, and ensured US Chaouia’s forward players were isolated. The full-backs pushed forward selectively, giving the team width without exposing the defence to quick counters.

US Chaouia’s plan relied on defensive discipline and set pieces, but once they fell behind the team lacked the creativity to unlock a well-organised back line. Their substitutions added energy, though not enough penetration. CA Batna, meanwhile, managed the clock well and never allowed the match to become chaotic.

Standout performers

CA Batna’s central midfielder dictated the rhythm and was involved in both goals, while the centre-forward’s movement created space for others. The goalkeeper also deserved credit for a key second-half save that kept the two-goal cushion intact. For US Chaouia, the captain worked tirelessly in midfield, but the attacking unit struggled to hold the ball under pressure.

League impact

The win is a valuable addition to CA Batna’s promotion push in Ligue Professionnelle 2 and reinforces their home form. A clean sheet will please the coaching staff, especially after a match in which game management mattered as much as attacking flair. US Chaouia return to the drawing board with work to do on breaking down organised opponents, while CA Batna can look ahead with renewed belief.
