Egnatia delivered a professional away performance to beat KF Laci 2-0 in the Albanian Super league on Sunday evening. Two second-half goals at the Stadiumi Laçi secured a deserved victory that keeps Egnatia firmly in the title conversation.

Match overview

KF Laci began the match with energy, looking to use home advantage and press Egnatia high up the pitch. The early exchanges were scrappy, with both sides committing fouls and struggling to establish rhythm. Egnatia gradually took control, however, using their midfield superiority to dictate the pace and pin Laci back.

The first half ended goalless, but Egnatia had already shown signs of dominance. After the break, they raised their intensity, scored the opening goal and then managed the game expertly. A late second goal confirmed the win and left KF Laci with little time to respond.

Key moments

• 22nd minute — Laci’s early chance: A quick break down the right ended with a low cross, but the Laci striker could not direct his shot on target from close range.
• 41st minute — Egnatia take control: A patient passing move opened space on the edge of the box, and only a fine save from the Laci goalkeeper kept the score level at half-time.
• 54th minute — Egnatia break the deadlock: A corner from the left was flicked on at the near post, and the Egnatia centre-back reacted quickest to stab the ball home from six yards.
• 77th minute — the points are secured: Egnatia doubled their lead on the counterattack. The winger drove into space and squared the ball for the striker, who calmly finished past the goalkeeper.
• 88th minute — Laci’s frustration: The hosts won a free-kick in a promising position, but the delivery was cleared as Egnatia saw out the closing stages without alarm.

Tactical story

Egnatia set up with a compact 4-2-3-1, focusing on controlling the centre of the pitch. Their double pivot screened the defence effectively, allowing the full-backs to advance and support the wingers. The movement of the attacking midfielder created space between Laci’s midfield and defence, and Egnatia exploited that area consistently in the second half.

KF Laci tried to press aggressively, but they struggled to win the ball back once Egnatia settled into possession. Their attacking play was largely limited to crosses and set pieces, and they lacked the creative spark to break down a well-drilled Egnatia defence. The two goals conceded came from defensive lapses that Egnatia punished ruthlessly.

Standout players

Egnatia’s centre-back was the standout performer, scoring the opening goal and defending with authority throughout. The striker who scored the second was a constant nuisance with his movement, while the midfield captain controlled the tempo and rarely gave the ball away.

For KF Laci, the goalkeeper made several saves to keep the score respectable, and the central defenders battled hard against a strong Egnatia attack. The team’s best outfield player was their right winger, who showed flashes of danger but lacked support in the final third.

Standings and season impact

Egnatia’s victory strengthens their position near the top of the Albanian Super league standings. With the title race entering a crucial phase, collecting three points away from home against a competitive side like KF Laci is an important step. Their defensive record continues to be a foundation for success.

KF Laci remain in the lower half of the table and will need to find more consistency in front of goal. The head-to-head result adds to Egnatia’s confidence, while Laci must regroup quickly before their next league fixture.
