KF Shiroka secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Lushnja KS in the Albanian Cup first round at the Lushnja Stadium on Wednesday evening. The visitors were clinical in front of goal, scoring twice in each half to ease into the next round.

Match Overview

Shiroka started the brighter and took the lead in the 11th minute when striker Blerim Kola latched onto a through ball and fired past the goalkeeper. Lushnja tried to respond but struggled to create clear chances. Shiroka doubled their lead in the 34th minute through a well-worked team goal finished by winger Erion Hoxha. The second half was more of the same, with Shiroka adding a third in the 59th minute when Kola scored his second. Lushnja's night got worse in the 77th minute when Shiroka midfielder Redon Dervishi curled in a fourth. The home side never gave up, but they were outclassed by a sharper, more organised opponent.

Tactical Story

Shiroka set up in a 4-4-2, looking to soak up pressure and hit Lushnja on the counter. It worked to perfection. Lushnja had plenty of possession but lacked penetration, often resorting to hopeful crosses that were easily cleared. Shiroka's midfield duo of Redon Dervishi and Endrit Rama controlled the centre of the park, and the front two of Kola and Hoxha were a constant threat with their pace. Lushnja's defence was repeatedly exposed by Shiroka's quick transitions, and the visitors could have scored even more.

Standout Players

Blerim Kola was the standout performer with two goals and an assist. Erion Hoxha also impressed with his pace and direct running, while Redon Dervishi capped a fine midfield display with a goal. For Lushnja, goalkeeper Arber Lika made several saves to keep the score down, but the team as a whole struggled to match Shiroka's intensity.

What It Means

KF Shiroka advance to the next round with a professional away performance. They will be confident of causing an upset against stronger opposition. For Lushnja KS, the heavy home defeat is a setback, and they will need to regroup quickly for their league fixtures. The cup exit allows them to focus on domestic matters.
