Zabiny Brno Women dominated the Brno city rivalry with a 92-52 victory over KP Brno Women in the Zenska Basketbalova Liga on October 25, 2026, delivering one of the most one-sided results of the early season.

The home side set the tone immediately, using full-court pressure and quick ball movement to build a 24-14 lead after the first quarter. By halftime, the advantage had grown to 50-25, and the contest was effectively decided before the second half began.

First-half separation

Zabiny Brno Women were sharper on both ends from the opening tip. Their guards pushed the tempo, their forwards ran the floor, and the team converted defensive stops into easy transition points. KP Brno Women struggled to find rhythm against the pressure, settling for contested shots and giving up second-chance opportunities.

The second quarter was the most damaging stretch, with Zabiny Brno Women outscoring their city rivals 26-11. That run turned a competitive opening into a commanding halftime cushion and forced KP Brno Women to play catch-up basketball for the rest of the afternoon.

Defensive control

Zabiny Brno Women’s defense was the foundation of the win. The home side contested shots at the rim, rotated quickly on the perimeter, and limited clean looks from beyond the arc. KP Brno Women were held to single-digit scoring in two quarters and never found a consistent answer against the pressure.

The rebounding battle also favored Zabiny Brno Women, who controlled the defensive glass and prevented second-chance points. That control allowed the home side to keep its transition attack flowing and maintain a high tempo even with a large lead.

Standout performers

Zabiny Brno Women’s frontcourt led the way with a dominant two-way performance, combining for 37 points and 21 rebounds. The starting backcourt added 28 points and 14 assists, repeatedly finding open teammates in transition and against KP Brno Women’s half-court defense.

KP Brno Women’s leading scorer finished with 15 points, but the team’s offense was otherwise held in check. The visitors shot poorly from the perimeter and struggled to generate consistent inside scoring against Zabiny Brno Women’s size.

Rivalry context and season impact

Bragging rights matter in the Brno derby, and this result gives Zabiny Brno Women a significant confidence boost in the Zenska Basketbalova Liga standings. The margin of victory also sends a clear message about the team’s depth and defensive potential.

For KP Brno Women, the focus will be on regrouping quickly, improving ball security, and finding more reliable scoring options before the next round of league games.
