The win improves Brandys nad Labem's position in the standings and sends a clear message to the rest of the Czech women's top flight: when their offense clicks, they can pull away from quality opponents.

The game followed a familiar pattern for the hosts: early pressure, balanced scoring, and a decisive third-quarter surge that turned a competitive contest into a comfortable victory.

Basket Ostrava (W) responded with a stronger second period, trimming the deficit to 44-37 by halftime. But the third quarter belonged entirely to the home side, which outscored Ostrava 24-16 to take a 68-53 advantage into the final ten minutes.

Key Moments

The pivotal stretch came midway through the third quarter. With Brandys leading 52-46, the hosts ripped off a 12-2 run over three minutes, fueled by two steals and a pair of transition layups. That burst pushed the margin to 64-48 and forced Basket Ostrava to call timeout. Ostrava never recovered, and Brandys maintained a double-digit cushion the rest of the way.

Another important moment arrived early in the fourth, when Ostrava cut the lead to 70-58. Brandys answered with back-to-back three-pointers from the wing, effectively ending any comeback hopes.

Tactical Story

Brandys nad Labem won this game with defense and rebounding. They forced 18 turnovers and converted them into 24 points, while also controlling the defensive glass to limit second-chance opportunities. Offensively, the hosts played inside-out, feeding the post before kicking out for open perimeter looks. That balance produced 22 assists on 33 made field goals, a sign of excellent ball movement.

Basket Ostrava (W) had success when they played through their interior scorers, but they struggled against Brandys's half-court pressure. Ostrava shot well from the free-throw line but could not generate enough clean looks in the half court during the decisive third quarter.

Standout Players

• Katerina Novakova (Brandys nad Labem): 22 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals — the game's leading scorer and the anchor of the third-quarter run.
• Tereza Svobodova (Brandys nad Labem): 18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists — efficient from the field and reliable in transition.
• Lucie Dvorakova (Brandys nad Labem): 11 points, 11 assists — a double-double that set the tone for the offense.
• Petra Kolarova (Basket Ostrava): 19 points, 7 rebounds — Ostrava's most consistent offensive threat.
• Marketa Prochazkova (Basket Ostrava): 14 points, 6 rebounds — productive inside but limited by foul trouble.

Season Impact and What’s Next

With the win, Brandys nad Labem Women strengthen their standing in the Zenska Basketbalova Liga table and add another quality result to their home record. For Basket Ostrava (W), the loss is a missed opportunity to gain ground in the standings, though their second-quarter fight showed they can compete with the league's better teams. The head-to-head result now belongs to Brandys, and if these two meet again later in the season, the rematch will carry extra weight in the playoff race.

Brandys will look to carry this momentum into their next fixture, while Ostrava must regroup defensively before their next road test. In a league where home wins are precious, this 87-72 result could prove important when the final standings are settled.
