Samorin Women vs Young Angels Kosice Women – Match Report

Young Angels Kosice Women continued their strong form in the Slovak Women's Basketball Extraliga, securing an 84–58 road win over Samorin Women. The visitors combined efficient perimeter shooting with disciplined defense to pull away steadily, turning a competitive first half into a comfortable victory by the final buzzer.

Match Overview

Samorin Women started with energy and kept pace early, but Kosice's superior execution on both ends gradually tilted the contest in their favor. The Young Angels leaned on balanced scoring and aggressive transition play to build a lead that grew quarter by quarter. Defensively, they limited Samorin's effectiveness in the half court, forcing difficult shots and controlling the defensive glass.

The 26-point margin reflects the visitors' control of the game's key stretches, particularly a decisive run that broke the contest open in the middle quarters.

Key Moments

• Opening exchanges: Samorin matched Kosice early, but the Young Angels' defensive adjustments began to pay dividends.
• Second-quarter surge: Kosice used a sustained run to build a double-digit cushion before halftime.
• Third-quarter dominance: The visitors extended their lead with sharp shooting and fast-break execution, effectively sealing the result.
• Closing composure: Kosice managed the final period calmly, protecting the margin and rotating their bench.

Tactical Story

Young Angels Kosice's game plan emphasized pace and spacing. By pushing the ball in transition and attacking before Samorin's defense could set, they generated open looks and forced fouls. Their half-court offense featured crisp ball movement and confident three-point shooting, which stretched the home side's defense thin.

Samorin Women, meanwhile, struggled to find consistent scoring against Kosice's pressure. Turnovers and missed opportunities in the paint allowed the visitors to build and maintain their advantage. Rebounding also favored Kosice, whose control of the boards limited Samorin's second-chance points and fueled their own fast breaks.

Standout Performances

Kosice's balanced attack was again on display, with contributions across the roster and a bench that maintained intensity in extended minutes. Their guards controlled tempo and distributed effectively, while their frontcourt finished efficiently around the rim. Samorin showed flashes of quality, particularly in the opening quarter, and will look to build on those stretches in upcoming Extraliga fixtures.

Season Impact

The victory strengthens Young Angels Kosice Women's position in the Slovak Women's Basketball Extraliga standings and adds a valuable road win to their season record. For Samorin Women, the defeat highlights areas for improvement, especially in handling pressure defense and converting opportunities in the half court as they prepare for their next round of games.
