MBA Moscow Women delivered a dominant 80-55 victory over Energy Ivanovo Women in the Russian Women's Basketball Premier League on October 24, 2026. The Moscow club controlled the game from the opening quarter, combining efficient offense with relentless defense to secure a result that underlined its strength at home.

Match overview

MBA Moscow set the tone immediately with high-energy defense and quick ball movement. The hosts attacked early in the shot clock, found open shooters on the perimeter, and punished Ivanovo on the offensive glass. By the time the game reached the second half, MBA had established a comfortable cushion and never allowed Energy Ivanovo to mount a serious comeback.

The 80-55 scoreline tells the story of a complete team performance. MBA shared the scoring load, moved the ball unselfishly, and stayed locked in defensively even after building a large lead. Energy Ivanovo struggled to find offensive rhythm and was forced into difficult shots throughout the evening.

Key moments

• MBA Moscow opened with a strong defensive stretch, forcing turnovers and scoring in transition.
• The hosts stretched the lead in the second quarter behind perimeter shooting and offensive rebounding.
• A third-quarter run put the game out of reach and forced Ivanovo to play catch-up basketball.
• MBA's bench maintained the intensity in the fourth quarter, preserving the margin until the final buzzer.

Tactical story

MBA's defensive game plan was effective from the start. The Moscow side denied easy entry passes, contested three-point attempts, and rotated well to cover Ivanovo's cutters. On offense, MBA played with pace but stayed under control, consistently making the extra pass and attacking mismatches inside.

Energy Ivanovo tried to slow the game down and work through its half-court sets, but the visitors could not sustain offensive momentum. MBA's pressure forced rushed decisions, and Ivanovo's shooting percentage suffered as a result. The hosts also dominated the rebounding battle, limiting second-chance points and giving themselves more opportunities to run.

Standout performers

MBA Moscow received contributions across the roster. The guards dictated tempo and found teammates in scoring positions, while the forwards controlled the paint and cleaned up misses. The bench added energy and defensive pressure, ensuring no drop-off when the starters rested. For Energy Ivanovo, the effort remained visible, but the team lacked the offensive firepower to keep pace once MBA pulled away.

Season impact

The win is a strong statement for MBA Moscow Women in the Premier League standings and reinforces their ability to win convincingly at home. It also highlights the team's depth and defensive identity, two qualities that matter over a long season. Energy Ivanovo Women will need to regroup quickly, focusing on ball security and shot selection after a difficult road outing. MBA will look to carry the same intensity into its next game, while Ivanovo will search for a more balanced offensive performance.
