Enisey Krasnoyarsk Women secured an important 72-64 home victory over SBSK BC Samara Women in the Russian Women's Basketball Premier League on October 24, 2026. In a game defined by defense and timely shot-making, the Siberian club made the decisive plays down the stretch to protect its home court and collect a valuable result in the standings.

Match overview

Enisey Krasnoyarsk entered the contest with a clear plan: defend aggressively, limit Samara's clean looks from beyond the arc, and attack the basket with purpose. The home side executed that approach well enough to lead for much of the evening, though SBSK BC Samara remained within reach and made the final quarter uncomfortable.

The 72-64 final score reflects a hard-fought, physical contest. Neither team shot the ball at a spectacular rate, but Enisey's ability to generate stops in key moments and convert at the free-throw line proved to be the difference. Samara competed on the glass and forced turnovers, but the visitors lacked the late scoring burst needed to complete a comeback.

Key moments

• Enisey opened with strong defensive pressure and forced Samara into several contested shots early.
• Samara responded with a run of its own, using offensive rebounds and inside scoring to stay close.
• The third quarter proved pivotal as Enisey tightened its defense and built a working lead.
• In the final minutes, Enisey knocked down key free throws and came up with a crucial stop to seal the win.

Tactical story

Enisey's half-court defense was the foundation of the win. The Krasnoyarsk side crowded the paint, forced Samara into mid-range attempts, and limited second-chance opportunities during the decisive stretches. Offensively, Enisey relied on patient ball movement and dribble penetration, which opened up scoring chances for both the guards and the interior players.

SBSK BC Samara showed resilience and kept the game within reach by competing on the boards and pushing the pace when possible. However, the visitors' outside shooting was inconsistent, and Enisey's ability to switch quickly on screens disrupted Samara's rhythm. The home team also won the battle at the free-throw line, a detail that mattered in a game separated by single digits for long periods.

Standout performers

Enisey's backcourt controlled the pace and made smart decisions under pressure, while the frontcourt provided important rebounds and defensive resistance. The bench contributed energy in the second half, helping the hosts maintain their intensity. For Samara, there were positives in the team's rebounding effort and willingness to attack the rim, but the visitors needed more consistent perimeter production to stretch Enisey's defense.

Season impact

The result gives Enisey Krasnoyarsk Women a confidence boost and adds an important home win to their Premier League record. It also underlines the value of defensive discipline in a league where road victories are difficult to earn. SBSK BC Samara Women leave with a loss but can take encouragement from their competitiveness; turning close defeats into wins will require better execution in the final five minutes. Enisey will aim to build on the win, while Samara will look to sharpen its offense ahead of the next round.
