KK Igokea produced a high-scoring 100-86 victory over Parma Perm in the Winline Basket Cup, using a balanced offensive attack and a strong third quarter to pull away. The home side surpassed the century mark for the first time in the competition this season, delighting their fans with an entertaining display.

The win strengthens Igokea’s position in the Winline Basket Cup standings and sends a warning to their rivals. Parma Perm competed well for long stretches but were ultimately undone by defensive lapses and Igokea’s efficient shooting.

Match Overview

Igokea set the tone with a 27-20 first quarter, attacking the basket aggressively and knocking down open three-pointers. Parma responded in the second quarter, scoring 22 points, but Igokea matched them with 24 to take a 51-42 halftime lead. The third quarter proved decisive: Igokea outscored Parma 25-21 to extend the margin to 13.

The final quarter was played at a frenetic pace, with both teams trading baskets. Parma cut the lead to eight midway through the period, but Igokea responded with a 9-2 run to seal the win. The 100-point total reflects Igokea’s offensive efficiency, while Parma’s 86 points were not enough to keep pace.

Key Moments

• First-quarter barrage: Igokea opened the game with a 12-4 run and never trailed.
• Third-quarter separation: A 10-3 run early in the second half pushed the lead to 16.
• Parma’s late push: A 7-0 run cut the deficit to eight in the fourth quarter.
• Closing surge: Igokea answered with a 9-2 run to put the game out of reach.

Tactical Story

Igokea’s offense was built on quick ball movement and aggressive drives to the rim. Their guards consistently broke down Parma’s defense, creating open looks for shooters on the perimeter. When Parma collapsed on the paint, Igokea kicked out for three-pointers, converting at a high rate.

Defensively, Igokea forced Parma into turnovers and limited their fast-break opportunities. Parma’s half-court offense was effective at times, particularly when their big men established position inside, but they were unable to string together enough stops to mount a serious comeback.

Standout Players

Igokea’s backcourt controlled the game, combining for 44 points and 13 assists. Their ability to penetrate and finish at the rim was a constant problem for Parma. The frontcourt added a physical presence on the boards, securing key offensive rebounds that extended possessions.

Parma’s leading scorer had a strong outing, but the team’s defensive effort was inconsistent. Their bench provided some energy in the second half, but Igokea’s depth proved too much to handle.

Season Impact

The win is a major statement for Igokea in the Winline Basket Cup, showcasing their offensive firepower and depth. It improves their standing in the competition and adds a valuable head-to-head advantage over Parma Perm.

Parma will need to tighten their defense and improve their rebounding if they are to compete in the latter stages of the cup. The 14-point margin could prove important in tiebreaker scenarios, making this a costly defeat despite their spirited effort.
