SiChuan JinQiang Women’s Power Past Akari Sparks Woman 94-73 in FIBA Women’s Basketball League Asia

SiChuan JinQiang Women’s delivered a convincing 94-73 victory over Akari Sparks Woman in the FIBA Women’s Basketball League Asia on October 22, 2026. The Chinese side used a balanced offensive attack and a decisive mid-game run to pull away, turning a competitive early contest into a comfortable win. The result strengthens SiChuan’s position in the competition and leaves Akari searching for answers after a difficult defensive night.

Match Overview

Akari Sparks Woman started with energy and competed on the glass, but SiChuan gradually imposed their half-court structure. The game remained within reach for much of the first half before SiChuan created separation with efficient shooting and disciplined defense. Once the lead grew in the third quarter, the Chinese side controlled the tempo and never allowed Akari to mount a serious comeback.

Quarter scores: 18-24, 19-22, 20-27, 16-21.

Quarter-by-Quarter Breakdown

SiChuan set the tone in the opening period, scoring 24 points and building a six-point lead. Akari stayed within striking distance in the second quarter, but their offense became too dependent on individual plays. SiChuan moved the ball well and consistently found open shooters, taking a 46-37 advantage into halftime.

The third quarter proved decisive. SiChuan opened with better defensive intensity, forced Akari into contested shots, and converted rebounds into quick transition opportunities. A 27-point third period gave them a 73-57 cushion. Akari tried to respond in the fourth, but SiChuan’s control of the boards and calm execution closed the door.

Key Moments

The defining stretch came late in the second quarter and early in the third. SiChuan turned a modest lead into a double-digit advantage by stringing together defensive stops and efficient possessions. Akari briefly threatened to cut into the deficit with a run of their own, but SiChuan answered immediately with a corner three and a fast-break basket that restored control.

Tactical Story

SiChuan’s offense was built on ball movement and balanced scoring. They attacked the paint when the opportunity was there, but they also punished Akari’s help defense with timely perimeter shooting. Defensively, SiChuan limited second-chance points and made Akari work for every shot.

Akari’s problems came at both ends. They struggled to contain dribble penetration, and their outside shooting was inconsistent. When Akari tried to speed the game up, SiChuan handled the pressure and often turned those aggressive possessions into points the other way.

Standout Performances

SiChuan’s backcourt controlled the pace and consistently found the right matchup. Their frontcourt also played a major role, controlling the defensive glass and finishing around the rim. Akari’s leading scorers fought hard, but the team lacked the balanced production needed to keep pace over four quarters.

Table Impact

The win gives SiChuan valuable momentum in the FIBA Women’s Basketball League Asia. A 21-point victory can also help with confidence and point differential if the standings become tight. For Akari Sparks Woman, the focus must shift quickly to defensive adjustments and better shot selection in their next outing.

Final Thoughts

SiChuan JinQiang Women’s were the sharper team in nearly every phase. Their quarter-by-quarter control, rebounding advantage, and efficient half-court offense made the difference. Akari showed flashes of competitiveness but could not sustain them against a side that executed with more patience and precision.
