Match overview

Panathlitikos used a 12-3 run to turn a narrow lead into a double-digit advantage, with strong play from its forwards on the offensive glass. PAOK cut the deficit to five early in the third quarter, but the hosts answered immediately with a 7-0 burst to regain control.

Tactical story

Panathlitikos won the rebounding battle 42-30 and scored consistently in the paint, finishing with a clear advantage in second-chance points. The hosts’ size inside forced PAOK to double-team at times, which opened up perimeter looks for Panathlitikos’ guards.

PAOK’s best moments came when it played with pace and attacked before Panathlitikos could set its defense. However, the visitors relied too heavily on three-point shooting and could not sustain their accuracy for four quarters. Panathlitikos’ half-court defense tightened in the second half, closing driving lanes and contesting jump shots.

• Panathlitikos’ guard: Added 14 points and 6 assists, steadying the offense in the fourth quarter.
• PAOK’s shooting guard: Scored 17 points and kept the visitors within reach in the first half.
• Panathlitikos’ bench: Provided valuable minutes and maintained the defensive intensity when the starters rested.

Season impact

The victory gives Panathlitikos Women an important early-season win in the Greek A1 Women's Basket League standings and a useful head-to-head result against a competitive PAOK side. For PAOK, the loss highlights the need for more balanced scoring and better rebounding against physical opponents.
