Dafni Agiou Dimitriou Women secured a hard-fought 75-70 home victory over Panathlitikos Women on Sunday, October 11, 2026, in the Greek A1 Women's Basket League. The game tipped off at 7:30 p.m. and provided a competitive, physical contest that was decided in the final minutes.

It was an important win for the hosts, who used their home-court advantage to grind out a result against a Panathlitikos side that refused to go away. The five-point final margin reflected just how tight the encounter was throughout.

Match Overview

Both teams came out with intensity, trading baskets in a closely contested opening quarter. Dafni established a slight edge with efficient shooting, while Panathlitikos stayed within touching distance through aggressive defense and second-chance points.

• First quarter: Dafni 19–16
• Halftime: Dafni 38–34
• End of third: Dafni 57–53
• Final: Dafni 75–70

The pattern remained consistent across all four quarters, with Dafni holding a narrow lead and Panathlitikos repeatedly threatening to overturn it. Ultimately, the home side's composure down the stretch made the difference.

Key Moments

The decisive stretch arrived in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter. With the score separated by just a single possession, Dafni converted a series of crucial baskets and free throws to keep Panathlitikos at bay. A timely defensive stop in the final minute denied the visitors a chance to tie the game.

Panathlitikos had their opportunities, particularly from beyond the arc, but were unable to find the consistent shooting touch needed to complete the comeback.

Tactical Story

Dafni's game plan relied on disciplined half-court execution and strong rebounding. They slowed the tempo, worked the ball into the post, and used patient possessions to wear down the Panathlitikos defense. Their ability to draw fouls and convert at the free-throw line proved especially valuable late in the game.

Panathlitikos countered with pressure defense and quick transition attacks, which kept them in contention for the full forty minutes. However, their shooting from the perimeter was streaky, and costly turnovers in the final period undermined their comeback efforts.

Standout Performers

• Dafni's frontcourt controlled the paint, scoring efficiently and dominating the rebounding battle.
• Dafni's guards managed the game well, protecting the ball and hitting key free throws in the clutch.
• Panathlitikos were led by their perimeter scorers, who kept the visitors within striking distance throughout.

Standings and Season Impact

The victory gives Dafni Agiou Dimitriou Women an important boost in the Greek A1 Women's Basket League standings, reinforcing their ability to win tight games at home. For Panathlitikos, it was a narrow defeat that nonetheless showed they can compete with the league's stronger sides.

Both clubs will now look ahead to their next fixtures, with Dafni aiming to build on a valuable win and Panathlitikos determined to bounce back quickly.
