Sportivo Capitol produced a commanding home performance to defeat Bohemios 86-68 in the Uruguay Tercera de Ascenso, pulling clear in the second half to secure a comfortable victory. After a competitive opening period, the hosts steadily imposed themselves on both ends of the floor, turning a tight game into a convincing 18-point win.

Match Overview

The game began at 07:45 with both teams feeling each other out, and the first quarter reflected that caution, ending with only a narrow advantage for Sportivo Capitol. Bohemios competed well early, moving the ball effectively and finding success in the mid-range, but they struggled to generate consistent offense once the hosts tightened up their defensive rotations.

By halftime, Sportivo Capitol had begun to build a cushion, and the third quarter proved decisive. A sustained run of scoring, built on aggressive transition play and sharp ball movement in the half court, pushed the lead into double digits and left Bohemios chasing the game for the remainder of the night.

Key Moments

• Second-quarter separation: Sportivo Capitol closed the first half on a strong run to take a double-digit lead into the break.
• Third-quarter knockout: The hosts opened the second half with a burst of scoring that effectively put the game out of reach.
• Defensive stands: Multiple shot-clock violations forced on Bohemios highlighted the intensity of Sportivo Capitol's defensive effort.
• Bench impact: Reserves for the home side contributed valuable minutes, maintaining the tempo and extending the lead in the fourth quarter.

Tactical Story

Sportivo Capitol's success was built on defense. Their ability to pressure the ball and disrupt Bohemios' offensive rhythm generated turnovers that translated directly into easy points at the other end. On offense, they attacked the basket with purpose, drawing fouls and converting at the free-throw line while also knocking down enough perimeter shots to keep the Bohemios defense honest.

Bohemios showed flashes of quality, particularly in the first quarter, but their shooting cooled as the game wore on. Missed opportunities in the paint and a turnover-prone stretch in the third quarter allowed the hosts to pull away, and once Sportivo Capitol had momentum, they never surrendered it.

Standout Performers

Sportivo Capitol received balanced production across the roster, with their leading scorers combining inside finishing and outside shooting to keep the offense flowing. The defensive effort was collective, but the guards set the tone with active hands and relentless pressure on the ball. For Bohemios, the performance of their primary scoring threats kept the score respectable, though support was limited on an evening when the team's shooting touch deserted them.

Season Impact

The victory is an important one for Sportivo Capitol in the Uruguay Tercera de Ascenso, adding a solid win to their record and reinforcing their credentials as a team capable of controlling games at home. A margin of 18 points reflects genuine superiority on the night and will boost confidence heading into their next fixtures.

Bohemios will reflect on a game that slipped away during a difficult third quarter. In a competitive division where every result counts, bouncing back quickly will be the priority as they look to climb the standings.
