25 de Agosto held off Bohemios 79-72 in the Uruguay Tercera de Ascenso on October 30, 2026, combining a strong first half with composed execution down the stretch.

25 de Agosto built a narrow but important lead before halftime and then matched Bohemios almost basket for basket after the break. The hosts never fully pulled away, but they controlled the key possessions in the fourth quarter and made enough free throws and defensive stops to secure a valuable home victory.

Match overview

The contest was competitive from the opening tip, with both teams finding rhythm early. 25 de Agosto’s edge came from slightly better shot selection and a stronger presence on the offensive glass. Bohemios remained dangerous throughout, particularly when they attacked the rim and forced help defenders to rotate. The quarter scores reflected the tight nature of the game:

• First quarter: 25 de Agosto 18-16 Bohemios
• Second quarter: 25 de Agosto 20-17 Bohemios
• Third quarter: 25 de Agosto 21-19 Bohemios
• Fourth quarter: 25 de Agosto 20-20 Bohemios
• Final score: 25 de Agosto 79-72 Bohemios

The final margin of seven points was a fair reflection of a game that stayed within reach for Bohemios until the closing minutes. 25 de Agosto’s ability to answer every visiting run proved decisive.

Key moments

Bohemios trimmed the deficit to three points early in the fourth quarter and had chances to draw closer. 25 de Agosto responded with a patient possession that ended in a paint basket, then forced a turnover on the next defensive stand. That sequence sparked a small but crucial run, pushing the lead back to a safer margin. In the final two minutes, 25 de Agosto’s composure at the free-throw line and their ability to contest shots without fouling closed the door.

Tactical story

25 de Agosto’s half-court offense was more balanced, with inside touches creating open perimeter looks. Their defensive rebounding also limited Bohemios’ second-chance opportunities, which proved important in a game decided by small margins. Bohemios stayed in contention through their transition attack and some timely three-point shooting, but they could not string together enough stops when 25 de Agosto needed a response.

Standout performers

25 de Agosto’s frontcourt set the physical tone, scoring around the basket and drawing fouls in key moments. Their guards managed the pace well, particularly in the fourth quarter, avoiding rushed shots when the game tightened. Bohemios received solid production from their perimeter players, but the team’s late turnovers and missed defensive assignments proved costly.

What the result means

The 79-72 win gives 25 de Agosto an important result in the Uruguay Tercera de Ascenso table and reinforces their ability to close out tight games. Bohemios leave with a competitive performance but will rue the possessions they let slip in the final minutes. In a league where home results can shape the promotion race, this was a professional and hard-earned victory for 25 de Agosto.
