Capurro produced a dominant 93-57 victory over Club Atlético Yale in the Uruguay Tercera de Ascenso on October 30, 2026, turning a fast start into a one-sided home win.

Capurro were sharper from the opening minutes and never allowed Club Atlético Yale to settle into a comfortable rhythm. By the end of the first quarter the hosts had already established a double-digit advantage, and they kept building on that lead with balanced scoring, aggressive transition play, and sustained defensive pressure.

Match overview

The game was effectively decided early, but Capurro’s consistency across all four quarters made the result even more impressive. They shared the ball well, attacked the basket with purpose, and punished Yale’s turnovers with quick points at the other end. The quarter-by-quarter breakdown shows how the margin grew steadily:

• First quarter: Capurro 24-12 Club Atlético Yale
• Second quarter: Capurro 22-15 Club Atlético Yale
• Third quarter: Capurro 25-14 Club Atlético Yale
• Fourth quarter: Capurro 22-16 Club Atlético Yale
• Final score: Capurro 93-57 Club Atlético Yale

Capurro’s 93-point output was built on efficient shot selection rather than reckless pace. The hosts consistently found good looks inside and capitalized on second-chance opportunities, while Yale struggled to match Capurro’s physicality on the boards.

Key moments

The decisive blow came late in the second quarter. With Yale hoping to enter halftime within reasonable contact, Capurro closed the half with a run that pushed the lead beyond 20 points. That burst took the wind out of the visitors’ comeback hopes. Early in the third quarter, Capurro added another quick flurry of baskets in transition, and the game moved firmly into garbage-time territory before the final period began.

Tactical story

Capurro’s defensive pressure was the engine behind the blowout. They denied easy entry passes, forced Yale into contested jumpers, and turned defensive rebounds into fast breaks. Offensively, Capurro’s ball movement created open lanes and perimeter looks, and their bench maintained the intensity when substitutions arrived. Yale had brief success when they slowed the tempo and attacked in the half court, but those stretches were too short to alter the game’s direction.

Standout performers

Capurro received contributions across the rotation, with their guards controlling the tempo and their forwards dominating the paint. The team’s rebounding advantage was especially notable, limiting Yale’s second-chance points while generating extra possessions for the hosts. For Club Atlético Yale, the effort remained visible until the final whistle, but the team lacked the defensive stops needed to stem Capurro’s momentum.

What the result means

This is the kind of statement win that can shape a season in the Uruguay Tercera de Ascenso. Capurro’s 93-57 result strengthens their standing and signals that they can overwhelm opponents when their transition game and half-court defense click together. For Club Atlético Yale, the focus will be on reducing turnovers and finding more balance on offense after a difficult road night.
