Capurro 96-69 BBC Layva: Hosts Cruise in Tercera de Ascenso Blowout

Capurro produced a dominant 96-69 win over BBC Layva in Uruguay Tercera de Ascenso on October 23, 2026, setting the tone with a 28-17 first quarter and never allowing the visitors back into the game. The hosts led 51-35 at halftime and extended the advantage to 24 by the end of the third.

Match overview

Capurro opened with a 14-2 run and forced BBC Layva into early turnovers. The visitors settled somewhat in the second quarter, but Capurro’s outside shooting and transition game kept the pressure on. By the time the third quarter ended, the hosts had built a 75-51 lead and were able to rotate their bench through the final period.

Key moments

The opening six minutes decided the contest. Capurro’s full-court pressure disrupted BBC Layva’s rhythm, and the hosts converted steals into layups and open threes. BBC Layva briefly cut the lead to 11 in the second quarter, but Capurro closed the half with a 9-2 run and then opened the third with another quick burst to remove any doubt.

Tactical story

Capurro’s defensive intensity was the foundation of the win. The hosts rotated well, contested shooters, and dominated the defensive glass, limiting BBC Layva to few second-chance opportunities. Offensively, Capurro shared the ball and attacked the rim consistently, forcing the visitors into foul trouble. BBC Layva struggled to match the pace and had no answer for Capurro’s bench production.

Standout performers

Capurro received contributions across the rotation, with the backcourt setting the tempo and the forwards finishing around the basket. The bench maintained the defensive standard in the second half, which allowed the starters to rest. BBC Layva had a few encouraging individual moments, but the team could not sustain execution against sustained pressure.

Season impact

The blowout gives Capurro a confidence-boosting home win and valuable point differential in the Tercera de Ascenso table. It also sends a statement about their depth and defensive ceiling. BBC Layva must quickly correct its turnover issues and find more half-court structure before the next round.
