Cader 75-81 Club Atletico Yale: Visitors Hold Firm in Tercera de Ascenso Battle

Club Atletico Yale claimed an 81-75 road win over Cader in Uruguay Tercera de Ascenso on October 23, 2026, surviving a late Cader surge to close out a hard-fought contest. Yale led 41-38 at halftime and 62-55 after three quarters, then made the key plays down the stretch to protect their advantage.

Match overview

Yale started strongly and led 22-18 after the first quarter, using crisp ball movement and timely perimeter shooting. Cader responded in the second, tying the game briefly before Yale regained a three-point halftime lead. The third quarter proved decisive, with Yale outscoring Cader 21-17 to build a seven-point cushion entering the final period.

Key moments

Cader made a determined run in the fourth quarter, cutting the deficit to 77-73 with under two minutes remaining. Yale responded with a composed possession that produced an open look, then added free throws to push the lead back to six. A late Cader basket was not enough, as Yale secured the defensive rebound and ran out the clock.

Tactical story

Yale’s perimeter shooting and ball movement gave Cader problems throughout the first half. The visitors also handled Cader’s pressure well, committing few live-ball turnovers. Cader won the rebounding battle and generated extra possessions, but inconsistent free-throw shooting and a few costly turnovers in the final minutes prevented the comeback from being completed.

Standout performers

Yale’s backcourt controlled the game in the closing stages, making smart decisions and knocking down important shots. The team’s defensive discipline in the final possession was equally important. Cader’s interior players kept the home side in contention with strong work on the boards, but the team needed more efficiency from the perimeter.

Season impact

The road win gives Club Atletico Yale an important result in the Uruguay Tercera de Ascenso standings and reinforces their ability to win close games. Cader leaves with a narrow defeat but can build on the fight shown in the fourth quarter. Both teams will look at late-game execution as a key area heading into their next fixtures.
