Cader made a statement in the Uruguay Tercera de Ascenso, dismantling Ateneo Piriapolis 111-96 in a high-scoring encounter on 1 October 2026. The hosts' offensive efficiency was the story of the night, as they surpassed the century mark and controlled the game from the opening minutes.

Match Overview

This was basketball played at full throttle. Both teams committed to an up-tempo approach, pushing the ball at every opportunity and settling into quick possessions. Cader thrived in that environment, knocking down shots from the perimeter and finishing efficiently around the rim, while Ateneo Piriapolis stayed competitive by attacking the basket and drawing contact.

How Cader Pulled Away

The difference came in the middle quarters. Cader strung together a series of scoring runs built on defensive stops and rapid outlet passes, turning defense into instant offense. Ateneo Piriapolis never stopped scoring, but they could not string together enough consecutive stops to close the gap.

• Final score: Cader 111, Ateneo Piriapolis 96
• Competition: Uruguay Tercera de Ascenso
• Result: Home victory by 15 points
• Key factor: Efficient shooting and transition scoring

Standout Performers

Cader's offensive balance was impressive, with multiple players reaching double figures and the team shooting at a high percentage across the game. Their ball movement created open looks consistently, and their rebounding work on the defensive end limited second-chance points for the visitors.

Ateneo Piriapolis can take encouragement from their own offensive output. Scoring 96 points on the road in this division is no small feat, and their effort level remained high until the final whistle. The issue was defensive: too many open threes and too many easy baskets in transition.

Season Impact

The victory boosts Cader's standing in the Tercera de Ascenso table and underlines their attacking potential in what is a competitive promotion race. Ateneo Piriapolis will look to tighten up defensively in their next fixture, knowing that their scoring ability gives them a genuine chance in most games if they can raise their intensity at the other end.
