Auriblanco delivered one of their most convincing performances of the Uruguay Tercera de Ascenso season, defeating BBC Layva 92-72 on the road on 19 October 2026. The visitors controlled the game after an even opening period, using pressure defense and efficient transition basketball to turn a competitive fixture into a clear win. The result gives Auriblanco an important boost in the standings and leaves BBC Layva searching for answers ahead of their next outing.

Match overview

BBC Layva started with energy in front of their home support and kept the game close through the first quarter. Auriblanco, however, gradually imposed their rhythm, moving the ball quickly and attacking the basket with purpose. The visitors led by a narrow margin after the opening exchanges and then broke the game open with a decisive run before halftime.

The second half followed a similar pattern. BBC Layva briefly threatened to cut the deficit in the third quarter, but Auriblanco answered every surge with timely shooting and strong work on the offensive glass. By the final period, the visitors were in full control and closed out the 20-point victory with composure.

Key moments

The turning point came in the second quarter, when Auriblanco produced a 14-3 run that changed the complexion of the game. Their defensive pressure forced BBC Layva into rushed shots and turnovers, which were quickly converted into easy points at the other end. BBC Layva cut the gap to single digits early in the third quarter, but Auriblanco responded with back-to-back three-pointers and a strong finish at the rim to restore their cushion.

In the fourth quarter, Auriblanco sealed the result with a 10-0 burst that pushed the lead beyond 20 points. From there, the visitors managed the clock well and avoided any late drama.

Tactical story

Auriblanco’s success was built on defense and rebounding. They disrupted BBC Layva’s half-court sets, contested perimeter shots and limited second-chance opportunities. Offensively, Auriblanco shared the ball effectively and punished Layva in transition. Their bench also provided valuable minutes, helping maintain intensity while the starters rotated.

BBC Layva had spells of good offense, particularly when they attacked the basket early in the shot clock, but they struggled to sustain momentum. Too many empty possessions in the second and fourth quarters allowed Auriblanco to pull away.

Standout performers

• Matías Ferreira led Auriblanco with 23 points, including several key baskets during the decisive second-quarter run.
• Gonzalo Techera added 18 points and 11 rebounds, controlling the paint on both ends.
• Facundo Silva was BBC Layva’s top scorer with 19 points, but he received limited support in the second half.

Standings and season impact

The win strengthens Auriblanco’s position in the Uruguay Tercera de Ascenso table and reinforces their credentials as a team capable of competing for promotion. For BBC Layva, the defeat highlights the need for greater consistency on the defensive end, especially when opposing guards begin to dictate tempo. Both teams will now turn their attention to the next round, with Auriblanco looking to build on a strong road result and BBC Layva aiming for an immediate response.
