Ateneo Piriapolis had stretches of quality play, particularly when its guards pushed the pace and created open looks in transition. The home side’s problem was sustaining that intensity. A handful of empty possessions in the final five minutes, combined with 25 de Agosto’s second-chance points, proved to be the difference in a six-point game.

• 25 de Agosto’s frontcourt: Won important rebounds and gave the team extra possessions in the closing minutes.
• Ateneo’s backcourt: Sparked the comeback attempt with penetration and outside shooting, but could not complete the rally.
• Ateneo’s interior players: Competed on the glass and scored in the paint, though the team needed one more defensive stop late.
