Al Nasr UAE claimed the UAE Federation Cup honours with an 87-75 victory over Al Jazeera, sealing the result with a composed fourth-quarter performance in a game that was far more competitive than the final margin suggests. Al Jazeera pushed hard in the third quarter to make it a contest, but Al Nasr's shot-making and late-game execution proved decisive.

Match Overview

Both teams arrived with an attacking mindset, and the opening exchanges delivered exactly that — quick possessions, aggressive drives, and a willingness to shoot early in the clock. Al Nasr edged ahead in the first quarter and held a slender advantage at half-time before pulling away down the stretch.

The cup format demanded a winner on the night, and Al Nasr's ability to control the tempo in the closing five minutes ultimately separated two well-matched sides.

Quarter-by-Quarter Breakdown

• Q1: Al Jazeera 19 – 24 Al Nasr
• Q2: Al Jazeera 18 – 22 Al Nasr
• Q3: Al Jazeera 20 – 19 Al Nasr
• Q4: Al Jazeera 18 – 22 Al Nasr
• Final: Al Jazeera 75 – 87 Al Nasr UAE

Al Jazeera's best spell came immediately after the interval, when a 20-point quarter trimmed the deficit and briefly put the upset within reach. Al Nasr responded with their most efficient quarter of the night to close it out.

Key Moments

The momentum swung in Al Jazeera's favour early in the third when they hit three consecutive shots from beyond the arc, cutting the lead to five and energising the home support. Al Nasr's coach called timeout, adjusted the pick-and-roll coverage, and his team answered with an 8-0 run of their own.

In the final quarter, Al Nasr's free-throw shooting and offensive rebounding wore Al Jazeera down. A corner three with just over three minutes remaining effectively ended the comeback attempt.

Tactical Story

Al Nasr's offence was built on penetration and kick-outs, forcing Al Jazeera's defence into constant rotations. When the ball moved quickly, Al Nasr found open shooters; when the game slowed, they attacked the rim through their athletic forwards.

Al Jazeera's approach was more perimeter-oriented, and when their three-point shooting cooled in the fourth quarter, they lacked a reliable interior counter. Defensively, both teams pressed at times, but Al Nasr handled pressure better, committing fewer live-ball turnovers in the decisive stretch.

Standout Performers

Al Nasr's scoring load was shared effectively, with their guards controlling tempo and their big men finishing efficiently around the rim. Al Jazeera's perimeter shooters kept them in the game through three quarters, and their transition game produced several highlight-reel moments, but the supporting cast could not match Al Nasr's balance.

Season Context

Lifting the UAE Federation Cup gives Al Nasr UAE a significant early-season confidence boost and a trophy to build on. For Al Jazeera, the run to the final demonstrates genuine progress, and the 12-point gap provides a clear, motivating target as domestic league play continues.
