Tactical story

JS Kairouan’s defensive intensity was the foundation of the win. They closed down driving lanes, contested perimeter shots and forced CS Hammam Sousse into turnovers that fuelled their fast break. Offensively, Kairouan shared the ball well and attacked the basket with purpose, drawing fouls and creating open looks from beyond the arc.

CS Hammam Sousse struggled to cope with the pace of the game. Their half-court offense was often rushed, and when they did create chances, the shots did not fall consistently. The hosts also lost the rebound battle, which allowed Kairouan to control possession and keep the pressure on throughout.

Standings impact and what comes next

The victory strengthens JS Kairouan’s position in the Tunisia Basketball League standings and sends a clear message about their scoring potential. A road win of this size can be a major confidence boost, especially if the team can carry the same defensive energy into tougher matchups.

CS Hammam Sousse will need to reset quickly. The loss exposed areas that require improvement, particularly ball security and defensive rebounding. In a competitive league, response matters, and the hosts will be eager to show a better performance in their next game. For JS Kairouan, the challenge is to maintain this level of intensity and turn a statement win into a consistent run.
