Aleppo Police Club is a Syrian basketball club based in Aleppo, one of the country's most important sporting cities. Competing in Syrian domestic basketball, the club carries the identity of a disciplined, physical side that has long been part of the competitive fabric of northern Syrian sport.

Basketball in Aleppo

Aleppo has produced some of Syria's most storied basketball teams, and the city's clubs have been central to the development of the national game. The Aleppo Police Club belongs to that tradition, drawing on a large local player pool and a support base that follows both domestic league fixtures and regional competitions.

Competition and format

Syrian basketball is organized around a national league with a regular season followed by playoffs to decide the champion. Clubs from Damascus, Aleppo, Homs, Latakia and other provinces meet across the campaign, with home-court advantage playing a significant role. Games are typically played in indoor arenas, and the domestic cup and regional club competitions add further fixtures to a busy calendar.

• League play — a long regular season against provincial rivals.
• Playoffs — knockout rounds where defensive execution decides tight series.
• Domestic cup — an additional route to silverware and continental qualification.

Playing identity

Aleppo Police Club teams are usually built around defensive solidity and physical rebounding. The side looks to control the tempo, protect the paint and force opponents into difficult, late-clock shots. On offense, the approach leans on high-percentage interior play, mid-range shooting from experienced forwards and disciplined half-court sets rather than reckless pace. That style travels well in playoff basketball, where possessions become precious.

Rivalries and atmosphere

Matches against the other Aleppo clubs carry particular weight, and the city's basketball rivalries are known for their intensity and atmosphere. Fixtures against the leading Damascus clubs are also treated as measuring sticks, offering the squad a chance to test itself against the traditional powers of Syrian basketball.

Outlook

The club's goals each season are straightforward: finish high enough in the standings to secure a favorable playoff path, defend home court without exception, and develop local players capable of representing both the club and the national team. With a strong identity, a loyal following and a consistent presence in top-flight Syrian basketball, Aleppo Police Club remains a respected name on the domestic scene.
