Kerasus produced one of their most complete road performances of the season, defeating Akhisar Belediye 66-53 in the Turkiye Basketbol 2. Ligi. A dominant second quarter and a controlled finish turned a competitive opening into a comfortable double-digit win, handing the visitors a result that strengthens their position in the league standings.

Match Overview

The game ended 66-53 in favour of Kerasus, a 13-point margin that reflects their superiority after the first ten minutes. Akhisar Belediye started well in front of their own fans but were gradually worn down by a Kerasus side that defended with discipline and converted their chances at a far higher rate.

Kerasus edged the opening quarter 18-14, then tightened their grip before half-time. Every period finished in their favour, a statistical reflection of how consistently they controlled the contest from the middle of the first quarter onwards.

How the Game Was Won

The decisive passage came in the second period. Kerasus stretched their defence, closed down the paint and forced Akhisar Belediye into low-percentage shots late in the shot clock. At the other end, patient ball movement created open looks, and a 9-2 run midway through the quarter opened the first real gap of the game.

Akhisar Belediye's best spell came early in the third quarter, when back-to-back baskets cut the deficit back towards single digits and briefly lifted the home crowd. Kerasus responded immediately with a timeout and a composed offensive set, rebuilding their lead and never allowing the hosts to get closer than eight points for the remainder of the game.

Tactical Breakdown

Kerasus played with a clear identity: a compact half-court defence, aggressive help on drives and a deliberate offence that prioritised quality over speed. Their ability to hold Akhisar Belediye to just 53 points — the hosts never reached 20 in any single quarter — was the foundation of the win.

Akhisar Belediye's struggles came largely on the offensive end. Their outside shooting was inconsistent, and when perimeter attempts stopped falling they lacked a reliable alternative inside. Kerasus's defensive rebounding limited second-chance opportunities, effectively squeezing the life out of the home attack.

Standout Performers

Kerasus shared the scoring burden effectively, with multiple players contributing in double figures and the bench adding valuable minutes without a drop in intensity. Their guard play stood out for its control — low turnovers, smart shot selection and an ability to slow the game down precisely when Akhisar Belediye tried to force the pace.

For Akhisar Belediye, the effort in the frontcourt was the highlight, with their big men battling on the boards and scoring most of the team's points in the paint. The perimeter, however, never found rhythm, and that imbalance made it difficult to sustain any meaningful run.

What It Means for the Season

Road wins in the Turkiye Basketbol 2. Ligi are hard to come by, and this result gives Kerasus valuable momentum as the campaign progresses. A 13-point away victory, achieved while keeping the opponent below 55 points, sends a clear message about their defensive standards and their ability to perform away from home.

Akhisar Belediye will be disappointed with the offensive output, but the defeat is far from terminal. Their opening-quarter performance showed they can compete with the stronger sides in the division; the challenge now is to convert that into points across all four quarters rather than fading after the first ten minutes.
