Goldcoast Wallabies cruised to a 73-58 victory over SAV Vacallo Basket in the Switzerland NLB on October 4, 2026. The home team put on a clinical performance at the Wallabies Arena, using a balanced attack and suffocating defense to secure the win.

Match Overview

Goldcoast Wallabies entered the game looking to establish themselves as a top team in the Swiss second division, and they did just that. From the opening quarter, they controlled the tempo, never trailing after the first few minutes. SAV Vacallo Basket, a historic club with a proud tradition, struggled to find answers against the Wallabies' aggressive play.

First Half: Wallabies Take Charge

The first quarter was relatively close, with the Wallabies leading 18-14 after ten minutes. However, the second quarter saw the home side pull away. A 12-2 run early in the period, sparked by back-to-back steals and fast-break layups, extended the lead to 30-16. Vacallo managed to trim the deficit slightly before halftime, but the Wallabies went into the break with a comfortable 40-28 lead.

Key Moments and Second-Half Control

Vacallo came out of halftime with a sense of urgency, scoring the first five points to cut the lead to 40-33. But the Wallabies responded with a 10-0 run of their own, effectively putting the game out of reach. The fourth quarter was a formality, as the Wallabies' defense continued to frustrate Vacallo, and their bench players closed out the game with poise.

Tactical Story

On offense, the Wallabies shared the ball well, recording 19 assists on 28 made baskets. Vacallo struggled from the free-throw line, making only 10 of 18 attempts, which hampered their comeback efforts.
