Norrkoping Dolphins Women protected home court with a composed 76-64 victory over Hogsbo Women in Svenska Basketligan Dam action on 18 October 2026. The Dolphins combined a strong inside presence with timely perimeter shooting to pull away in the second half, turning a competitive game into a double-digit win in front of their home supporters.

Match Overview

The game was billed as a meeting between a Norrkoping side eager to establish itself among the league's front-runners and a Hogsbo team looking to steal a road result. For long stretches, that script held: the visitors competed hard on the glass and kept the margin within reach, but Norrkoping's ability to score in bunches at key moments proved decisive.

• Final score: Norrkoping Dolphins Women 76, Hogsbo Women 64
• Competition: Svenska Basketligan Dam
• Date: 18 October 2026
• Winning margin: 12 points

How the Game Was Won

Norrkoping's offensive balance was the story of the night. Rather than relying on a single scorer to carry the load, the Dolphins spread the ball around and punished Hogsbo whenever the defense collapsed into the paint. Ball movement created open looks from beyond the arc, and Norrkoping's guards did a solid job of controlling tempo, particularly in the third quarter when the home side began to separate.

Defensively, the Dolphins made life difficult for Hogsbo in the half court. Hogsbo's 64 points reflect a night of contested shots and limited second-chance opportunities, and the visitors were forced to work hard for nearly every basket. Norrkoping's rebounding effort, especially on the defensive end, prevented the extra possessions that could have kept the game tighter down the stretch.

Key Moments

The turning point arrived after halftime. With the game still within a couple of possessions, Norrkoping opened the third period with a run built on stops and quick transition baskets, forcing Hogsbo into a timeout. That burst shifted the momentum firmly toward the home bench and gave the Dolphins a cushion they never surrendered.

Hogsbo responded with energy in the fourth quarter, cutting into the lead with aggressive drives and a few well-timed three-pointers, but Norrkoping answered each surge with a composed possession of its own. Free throws in the final minutes closed the door and sealed a professional home win.

Standout Performances

Norrkoping's scoring was spread across the rotation, with the backcourt setting the tone on both ends and the frontcourt providing a steady interior presence on the boards. The Dolphins' bench also contributed valuable minutes, maintaining defensive intensity when the starters rested — a factor that mattered in a game decided by second-half runs.

For Hogsbo, the positives came in effort and resilience. The visitors stayed competitive into the second half and showed flashes of strong perimeter shooting, but they will look to improve their rebounding and reduce turnovers in the next outing.

Season Impact

The result adds an important home win to Norrkoping's Svenska Basketligan Dam record and reinforces their credentials as a team capable of competing with anyone in the league on their own floor. For Hogsbo, the loss is a reminder of how narrow the margins can be in Sweden's top women's division, where road games against well-drilled opponents demand near-perfect execution.

Both sides now turn their attention to the next round of fixtures, with Norrkoping aiming to build momentum from a complete team performance and Hogsbo focused on tightening up the defensive details that cost them after the break.
