Norrköping Dolphins Women 83-62 Brahe Women: Dolphins Cruise to Commanding Home Win in Svenska Basketligan Dam

Norrköping Dolphins Women produced a polished home performance on Sunday, 4 October 2026, defeating Brahe Women 83-62 at Stadium Arena in the Svenska Basketligan Dam. The 21-point margin reflected the Dolphins’ control at both ends of the floor, as they turned a competitive first half into a one-sided second half behind balanced scoring, relentless pressure defense and efficient perimeter shooting.

Match Overview

The Dolphins opened the game with purpose, moving the ball quickly and attacking the paint before kicking out to open shooters. Brahe Women stayed within striking distance early, using timely three-point shooting and offensive rebounds to keep the deficit manageable. But Norrköping’s defensive intensity never dropped, and the home side gradually imposed its will on the contest.

By the final buzzer, the Dolphins had placed four players in double figures and had forced Brahe into 20 turnovers. The victory gave Norrköping an important early-season result in the Svenska Basketligan Dam standings and underlined their potential as a team to watch in the race for the playoffs.

First Half: Dolphins Build a Working Lead

Norrköping started the game with a 22-15 first quarter, powered by aggressive drives from the guard positions and a pair of early three-pointers. Brahe responded in the second period with a more patient half-court attack, but the Dolphins’ bench maintained the energy level and helped push the halftime score to 43-33.

The key in the opening 20 minutes was Norrköping’s ball movement. The Dolphins recorded 12 first-half assists and repeatedly found cutters behind Brahe’s help defense. Defensively, they limited Brahe to just 33% shooting from the field and contested nearly every perimeter attempt.

Second Half: Norrköping Pull Away

Any hopes of a Brahe comeback were dashed in the third quarter. Norrköping opened the second half with a 12-2 run, extending its lead to 55-35 and forcing Brahe to call timeout. The Dolphins’ full-court pressure created easy transition baskets, while their half-court defense continued to trap Brahe’s ball handlers near the sidelines.

Norrköping won the third quarter 20-14 and the fourth 20-15, never allowing Brahe to cut the deficit below 16 points in the final period. The Dolphins’ 83-point total was built on 47% field-goal shooting, including 9-of-24 from beyond the arc, and a 42-34 rebounding advantage.

Standout Performers

• Maja Lindqvist led Norrköping with 18 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds, controlling the tempo from the point guard position.
• Elin Gustavsson added 16 points and 9 rebounds, doing most of her damage in the paint and at the free-throw line.
• Emma Karlsson chipped in 12 points off the bench, including two momentum-changing three-pointers in the third quarter.
• For Brahe Women, Sofia Berg scored 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, while guard Linnea Holm added 11 points and 4 assists.

Tactical Takeaways

Norrköping’s defensive pressure was the defining feature of the game. The Dolphins used a mix of full-court presses and half-court traps to disrupt Brahe’s rhythm, turning 20 turnovers into 24 points. Offensively, they shared the ball exceptionally well, finishing with 19 assists on 31 made field goals.

Brahe, meanwhile, struggled to generate clean looks against Norrköping’s length. They shot just 5-of-22 from three-point range and were outscored 40-28 in the paint. The visitors will need to improve their decision-making against pressure if they are to climb the Svenska Basketligan Dam table in the coming weeks.

Standings and Season Impact

The win moves Norrköping Dolphins Women into a promising early position in the Svenska Basketligan Dam standings, with a home victory that could prove valuable in tiebreakers later in the season. For Brahe Women, the loss is a reminder of the gap between the league’s top contenders and the teams fighting for consistency.

Norrköping will look to carry the momentum into their next fixture, while Brahe will focus on reducing turnovers and improving their half-court execution. Based on this performance, the Dolphins look capable of competing for a top-four finish and a deep playoff run.
