Visby Women produced a commanding 94-66 road victory over Hogsbo Women in the Svenska Basketligan Dam on October 25, 2026, overwhelming the hosts with pressure defense and efficient transition scoring. The visitors set the tone early and steadily pulled away, turning a competitive first quarter into a lopsided result by the final buzzer.

Match overview

Hogsbo Women entered the game hoping to use their home crowd and half-court execution to slow the pace, but Visby had other ideas. Visby’s full-court pressure forced turnovers, and their guards pushed the ball relentlessly in transition. Hogsbo managed to stay within reach for the opening minutes, but once Visby found their rhythm from the perimeter, the game tilted decisively in the visitors’ favor.

• First quarter: Hogsbo 16-27 Visby
• Second quarter: Hogsbo 18-22 Visby
• Third quarter: Hogsbo 15-24 Visby
• Fourth quarter: Hogsbo 17-21 Visby
• Final score: Hogsbo Women 66, Visby Women 94

How Visby built the blowout

The second quarter was where the game truly slipped away from Hogsbo. Visby opened the period with a 10-2 run, capitalizing on careless passes and converting steals into layups. Hogsbo tried to settle things down with timeout adjustments, but Visby’s defensive energy remained high, and the visitors consistently beat the home team down the floor after missed shots.

By halftime, Visby had built a comfortable cushion, and they refused to let Hogsbo back into the contest. A 9-0 run early in the third quarter pushed the lead beyond 20 points and effectively ended the hosts’ hopes of a comeback. Visby’s bench also contributed meaningful minutes, maintaining the intensity and ensuring there was no drop-off when the starters rested.

Tactical story

Visby’s defensive game plan was clear: pressure the ballhandler, deny easy entry passes, and force Hogsbo into hurried decisions. The approach worked beautifully. Hogsbo finished with too many turnovers and struggled to find clean looks in the half court, especially when Visby extended their defense beyond the three-point line. On offense, Visby shared the ball well, recorded assists on a high percentage of their baskets, and attacked the rim whenever Hogsbo overextended.

Standout performers

• Elin Sandberg (Visby): 23 points, 6 assists, 4 steals
• Maja Lindqvist (Visby): 18 points, 8 rebounds
• Sofia Berglund (Visby): 14 points, 5 assists
• Clara Nyberg (Hogsbo): 16 points, 7 rebounds
• Ida Karlsson (Hogsbo): 12 points, 4 assists

Sandberg was the standout, controlling the game on both ends with her scoring and playmaking. Lindqvist dominated the glass and gave Visby second-chance opportunities, while Berglund’s outside shooting kept the offense spaced. For Hogsbo, Nyberg fought hard inside and Karlsson showed flashes of creativity, but the hosts lacked the collective defensive discipline needed to slow Visby’s attack.

Season impact

The 28-point win is a serious statement from Visby Women in the Svenska Basketligan Dam and should boost their confidence as the season progresses. It also serves as a warning to other teams about Visby’s ability to dictate tempo on the road. Hogsbo Women will need to review their turnover issues and defensive rotations; against a pressing team like Visby, clean ballhandling and composure under pressure are non-negotiable. The result adds another important chapter to the league’s early-season storylines.
