Alvik BBK Women Secure 78-67 Road Win Over Hogsbo Women in Svenska Basketligan Dam

Alvik BBK Women produced a composed and efficient road performance on Saturday, October 10, 2026, defeating Hogsbo Women 78-67 in Svenska Basketligan Dam action. The visitors led for much of the night, survived a third-quarter push from Hogsbo, and then closed the game with a decisive fourth-quarter run to seal an 11-point victory.

The result gave Alvik an important early-season lift in Sweden’s top women’s basketball league, while Hogsbo were left to reflect on a strong offensive stretch that was not quite enough against a balanced Alvik attack. Alvik’s final score of 78 came through patient half-court execution, timely three-point shooting, and a late surge that kept Hogsbo at arm’s length.

Match Overview

From the opening tip, Alvik BBK Women looked organized on both ends. They moved the ball well against Hogsbo’s initial pressure, found open shooters on the wings, and built a 21-17 lead after the first quarter. Hogsbo stayed within striking distance thanks to second-chance points and aggressive drives, but Alvik’s defensive rotations forced several contested jumpers in the second period.

By halftime, Alvik held a 40-33 advantage. Hogsbo had moments of momentum, particularly when their guards attacked the paint, but Alvik answered nearly every run with a composed possession. The third quarter was Hogsbo’s best stretch: they outscored Alvik 18-17 and trimmed the deficit to 57-51 heading into the final period. That set up a tense finish, but Alvik’s fourth-quarter execution proved decisive.

Quarter-by-Quarter Breakdown

• First quarter: Alvik 21, Hogsbo 17
• Second quarter: Alvik 19, Hogsbo 16
• Third quarter: Hogsbo 18, Alvik 17
• Fourth quarter: Alvik 21, Hogsbo 16
• Final score: Alvik BBK Women 78, Hogsbo Women 67

Alvik’s ability to win the first, second, and fourth quarters gave them the cushion they needed. Hogsbo’s third-quarter response showed character, but the home side could not sustain the same scoring rhythm over the final eight minutes.

Key Moments

The defining stretch came in the fourth quarter. After Hogsbo had clawed the game back to a six-point margin, Alvik responded with an 8-0 run that pushed the lead into double digits. That burst was built on back-to-back defensive stops, a transition layup, and a deep three-pointer that silenced the home crowd. Hogsbo called timeout to regroup, but Alvik’s momentum was already established.

Another important moment arrived late in the third quarter. Hogsbo had cut the lead to five and appeared ready to make it a one-possession game, but Alvik’s half-court defense forced a shot-clock violation. On the next possession, Alvik converted a second-chance basket to restore control. Those small swings added up over 40 minutes.

Tactical Story

Alvik BBK Women used a balanced offensive approach, mixing pick-and-roll actions with quick ball reversals. Their guards did a good job of drawing help defenders and kicking out to shooters, which helped them finish with 10 made three-pointers. Hogsbo, by contrast, relied more on dribble penetration and interior scoring. They found success when they pushed the pace, but Alvik’s half-court defense limited clean looks in the closing minutes.

Rebounding was another key area. Alvik held a narrow 38-33 advantage on the boards, and their ability to limit Hogsbo’s second-chance opportunities in the fourth quarter proved critical. Hogsbo competed hard on the offensive glass, but Alvik’s forwards did enough to secure defensive rebounds and trigger transition chances.

Turnovers also shaped the game. Hogsbo committed 15 turnovers, while Alvik gave the ball away 11 times. Alvik converted those extra possessions into 18 points, a margin that proved decisive in an otherwise competitive contest.

Standout Players

Alvik’s backcourt led the way. Linnéa Dahlberg scored 21 points and added 5 assists, consistently finding gaps in Hogsbo’s defense. Sofia Lindqvist delivered a strong two-way performance with 17 points and 11 rebounds, while point guard Emma Berglund controlled the tempo and finished with 12 points and 8 assists.

For Hogsbo Women, Matilda Ekström was the most reliable offensive option, scoring 18 points and pulling down 9 rebounds. Hanna Johansson added 15 points, and center Ida Sjöberg contributed 12 points and 8 rebounds. Despite their efforts, Hogsbo could not match Alvik’s late-game execution.
