Alvik BBK Women produced one of the most convincing performances of the Svenska Basketligan Dam round, defeating Brahe Women 86-53 on October 18, 2026. The visitors controlled the game from the opening quarter and never allowed Brahe to settle into a comfortable offensive rhythm, turning defensive pressure into easy baskets at the other end.

Match overview

The final scoreline tells the story of a game shaped by Alvik’s intensity and execution. Alvik moved the ball sharply, attacked the paint with purpose, and punished Brahe’s turnovers with quick transition baskets. Brahe, meanwhile, found scoring difficult against a compact and aggressive defense, managing only 53 points across the contest.

Alvik’s ability to dictate tempo was evident early. They pushed the ball after made baskets and misses alike, forcing Brahe into hurried decisions. By the time the home side adjusted, Alvik had already established a lead and the confidence that came with it.

Key moments

• Opening surge: Alvik started with high energy, scoring in transition and forcing Brahe into early turnovers.
• Defensive clamp: The second quarter saw Alvik limit Brahe to contested jump shots and second-chance opportunities.
• Third-quarter separation: Alvik opened the second half with a decisive run, effectively putting the game out of reach.
• Bench contribution: Alvik’s reserves maintained the intensity, ensuring no drop-off in defensive pressure or rebounding.

Tactical story

Alvik’s defensive game plan revolved around disrupting Brahe’s half-court sets. They denied easy entry passes, rotated quickly on the perimeter, and contested every shot. That pressure translated into fast-break opportunities, where Alvik’s guards excelled at finishing or finding trailing teammates.

On offense, Alvik showed patience when needed but never passed up an open lane. Their ball movement created mismatches inside, and their offensive rebounding gave them extra possessions that further drained Brahe’s confidence. Brahe’s best spells came when they slowed the game down, but those moments were too brief to change the momentum.

Standout performers

Alvik’s balanced scoring was a key feature of the win. Multiple players contributed on the offensive end, making it difficult for Brahe to key in on one scorer. The team’s guards controlled the pace, while the frontcourt dominated the boards and protected the rim. It was a complete team performance built on energy and discipline.

Brahe will take some encouragement from their effort, but the shooting numbers and turnover count will be areas to address. Their defense had bright moments, yet the offense never found a consistent rhythm against Alvik’s pressure.

Season impact

The 86-53 victory is a significant confidence boost for Alvik BBK Women and a warning to the rest of the Svenska Basketligan Dam. It demonstrates their ability to dominate on the road and defend at a high level. For Brahe Women, the focus will be on improving ball security and finding more reliable scoring options before the next round of fixtures.
