Hyvinkaan Ponteva Women earned a convincing 80-61 road win over TikS W in the Finland I Divisioona Women on October 26, 2026. The 19-point victory was built on balanced scoring, stronger rebounding and a second-half run that allowed the visitors to take full control.

Match overview

TikS W competed well early and kept the game close through the opening stages, using home energy and interior scoring to stay in contact. Hyvinkaan Ponteva Women gradually found their rhythm, however, and began to win the possession battle. The visitors’ defense improved as the game wore on, while their offense became more efficient both in transition and against TikS’s half-court defense.

Key moments

The turning point came in the middle quarters, when Hyvinkaan put together a sustained run on both ends. Consecutive defensive stops were followed by quick baskets, forcing TikS to chase the game. The visitors’ lead grew in the third quarter as their ball movement created open looks and their rebounding limited second-chance opportunities for the hosts. TikS kept fighting in the final period, but Hyvinkaan managed the tempo well and protected the advantage.

Tactical story

Hyvinkaan Ponteva Women’s rebounding and defensive activity were central to the win. The visitors contested shots, closed driving lanes and pushed the ball after misses. On offense, they shared the ball effectively and attacked mismatches rather than settling for contested shots. TikS W had productive stretches when it played through the post and attacked the offensive glass, but the hosts could not sustain that approach against Hyvinkaan’s adjustments.

Standout performers

Hyvinkaan’s balanced attack made it difficult for TikS to key on one scorer. The guards controlled the pace and found open teammates, while the frontcourt battled on the boards and finished around the rim. TikS’s leading contributors showed fight, especially in the paint, but the home side needed more consistent perimeter shooting to keep pace once the visitors pulled away.

Standings impact

This is a valuable road result in the Finland I Divisioona Women standings. Winning by 19 points away from home can provide both confidence and a useful points-difference boost in a competitive league. For TikS W, the match underlines the importance of maintaining defensive discipline for longer stretches and finding secondary scoring when the primary options are contested.

The final score of 61-80 reflects Hyvinkaan’s growing control as the game progressed. It was a complete team performance and a result that should give the visitors momentum in their next I Divisioona Women fixtures.
