Melilla Baloncesto secured a convincing 81-64 home win over Tres Cantos in the Spain Segunda FEB on 25 October 2026, combining a fast start with a strong third quarter to pull away for a comfortable victory.

Melilla led from the early stages and managed the game well, never allowing Tres Cantos to find a sustained comeback. The hosts’ 17-point winning margin reflects their control on both ends, particularly around the basket and in transition.

Match overview

Melilla opened with a 22-14 first quarter and extended their lead to 41-31 by halftime. A 23-16 third quarter effectively put the game out of reach, and the hosts maintained their advantage through the final ten minutes.

• First quarter: Melilla Baloncesto 22-14 Tres Cantos
• Second quarter: Melilla Baloncesto 19-17 Tres Cantos
• Third quarter: Melilla Baloncesto 23-16 Tres Cantos
• Fourth quarter: Melilla Baloncesto 17-17 Tres Cantos

The quarter scores show Melilla winning three periods and tying the fourth. That consistency was too much for Tres Cantos, who struggled to string together enough stops to threaten the hosts.

Key moments

Melilla’s strong opening quarter gave them immediate control. The hosts moved the ball well and attacked the basket with purpose, forcing Tres Cantos into defensive rotations that opened up scoring opportunities. The visitors stayed within reach in the second quarter but could not close the gap before halftime.

The decisive stretch came in the third quarter. Melilla increased their defensive intensity, turned stops into quick points and built a lead that allowed them to play with greater freedom in the final period.

Tactical story

Melilla’s inside presence was a major factor. The hosts scored efficiently around the rim, drew fouls and controlled the defensive glass. That interior advantage allowed their guards to play with more space and confidence on the perimeter.

Tres Cantos had moments of good ball movement but lacked the offensive consistency to keep pace. Their defense was stretched by Melilla’s balanced attack, and once the hosts built a double-digit lead, the game became difficult to chase.

Standout performers

Melilla’s frontcourt led the way with strong rebounding and efficient finishing, while the backcourt managed the tempo well and made timely shots. The bench also provided energy, helping the hosts maintain their intensity across all four quarters.

Tres Cantos competed hard but were unable to contain Melilla’s scoring runs. Their best spells came when they played with pace, but those moments were too infrequent to change the outcome.

What the result means

This is a solid home result for Melilla Baloncesto in the Segunda FEB and a performance that reinforces their strength on their own court. The win gives them momentum in the standings and highlights the value of their interior play. Tres Cantos will need to regroup defensively and find more consistent scoring as they move on to their next fixture.
