Jaen CB secured a hard-fought 75-70 home win over CB Getafe in Spain Segunda FEB action on 4 October 2026, grinding out a five-point victory in a game that was decided by defensive stops and rebounding rather than pure scoring.

Match Overview

Segunda FEB basketball is known for its physicality and tactical depth, and this meeting was a textbook example. Neither side allowed the other to pull away, and the margin stayed within a couple of possessions for long stretches. Jaen CB's home advantage proved decisive in the closing minutes, when they made the plays that mattered on both ends of the floor.

With only 145 points scored between them, the game was a defensive battle in which every basket carried extra value and every turnover felt costly.

Key Moments

• Tight opening: Both teams traded baskets in a low-scoring first period, setting the tone for a grind-it-out contest.
• Jaen's surge: A mid-game run built on defensive stops and fast-break points gave the hosts a cushion.
• Getafe fightback: CB Getafe responded with improved outside shooting and aggressive drives to cut the deficit.
• Clutch close: Jaen CB converted key free throws and forced a difficult final possession to seal the win.

Tactical Story

Jaen CB's approach centred on controlling the paint. They defended the rim well, closed down driving lanes and forced CB Getafe into contested jumpers. On offense, they worked the ball inside-out, using post touches to draw double teams and create open looks for their shooters.

CB Getafe stayed in the game through effort and hustle. Their offensive rebounding kept possessions alive, and their guards found success attacking off the dribble in the second half. What ultimately separated the teams was Jaen's efficiency at the free-throw line and their ability to secure defensive rebounds in the final two minutes.

Standout Performers

The hosts' interior players set the tone with strong work on the glass and efficient finishing around the basket, while their guards managed the tempo and protected the ball late. For CB Getafe, the backcourt stood out for their scoring and penetration, and their frontcourt battled admirably against a physical opponent.

Season Impact

In a competitive Segunda FEB campaign where road wins are precious and home form often determines final standings, this result gives Jaen CB a valuable victory and reinforces their strength on their own floor. CB Getafe leave with a narrow defeat but a performance that suggests they will be competitive in the weeks ahead.
